My husband and I had our wedding day at the Captain A.V. Nickels Inn. Everything was perfect from the flowers, arrangements, food was pretty good, DJ was great even though it was a last minute change, and the staff was great. All of my questions eventually got answered usually via e-mail or phone. We had an amazing overnight prior to... more

My daughter wanted to get married on the water and living in the area we had gone to see the Inn in Searsport. My daughter decided right then that that was where she was to get married. We had gone to look at it a couple of time the year before she was to get married and it looked ok.... more

I have to say, we had a very hard time working with the Inn for our wedding and reception up until the very last minute. It was like pulling teeth to get a phone call or email back. While the Inn may have been "relaxed" we were not! Many details were forgotten or "rearranged." The reception food was okay but... more

I was embarrassed by the quality of my reception. Just as others have expressed, the quality that was promised was not delivered. The food that was served was not what I had asked for, and the presentation was terrible. Going into the night, I did not know what the food would taste like, what the flowers would look like or... more

I heard out about the Inn from an ad my mother saw in a magazine. What I found convenient about the Inn was that I could make all of my decisions with one person. It felt personable as I made choices and plans for the big day. On the day of the wedding however, things were not exactly as they... more

The inn has been renovated nicely and is well decorated, but in my opinion over-done. I feel it needs to be toned down a, to give it a more authentic feel, because as it stands it is, in my opinion, quite gaudy. While there is something to be said for elegance and good taste, they clearly have gone over-the-top in... more

We stayed at the Capt. Nickels Inn while visiting family in the area, and were simply charmed. A nice variety of rooms, all with interesting furnishings, tastefully assembled. We stayed in the "bridal suite". which has its own balcony with a view of the water and large fountain of the master bedroom, a sitting room, with kitchenette, and adjoining bedroom... more

The inn is amazing with great ambiance and food. I absolutely loved staying here with my girlfriend who decided at the last minute to take a road trip through the coast of Maine. We had a good time the service was friendly and timely. Thanks!! more

This is the best inn in Searsport! I frequently drive through this area on business and decided to stay the night. The place has a lot of class and is very clean. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend getaway or sophisticated evening. Kudos! more

When driving on Route 1 this summer I came upon this beautiful Inn on the Ocean advertising a Champagne Brunch and I was amazed at what I found. This old sea captains home was recently renovated in contemporary "old world" style and was as stimulating as it was elegant. After visiting the different parlors I was escorted into the formal... more
