Upon check-in we initially were assigned site 20 and were offered to check out other available sites. It was fun looking at the other sites but we stuck with site 20 which was perfect! Camping with an almost 4 year old we were worried. Everyone is friendly and the playground with animals nearby kept our son busy! Just enough trees... More

Our family stayed at SSOC for the first time after having previously camped in Acadia. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful views from our oceanside site, cleanliness of the grounds, and kid friendly amenities (playground, nature trails, goats and gardens). The owners and staff were very friendly and provided info on local day activities in the area. Sign up... More

Family of 4, with a 10 yr old son and 6 yr old daughter. We had reservations at a different campgrounds for a 5 night stay. We arrived and found a disaster - dingy and dark cabin, no privacy, and right next to the playground and concert area. We arrived and we're tired and tried to make things work, but... More

We arrived here last minute on a Friday night in August. While we obviously were not able to get on the water, we were given a site. When we realized it was right next to the store, the ladies at the desk cheerfully gave us some others to choose from. The place is ultra clean, quiet, and the people running... More

We had a great time and spent nearly a week with SSOC, found the staff to be great. At no point did they under deliver. We attended the Saturday Lobster bake and had a blast! If we're in the area again, we'd stay with them.

Spent one night in the ocean view tent sites. Our site was nice and quiet. Port-a-potties where a little far away but closer than the main bathhouse. The bathhouse was relatively clean and the showers were warm. The general store had lots of what you may have forgotten and the staff was friendly. They are sticklers for the rules, we... More

We visited Searsport Shores for the first time recently, our first foray back to camping in almost a decade. This was the place for it. Whether you've got a Class A camper or a pup tent, there's a place for you here. For those who prefer to be in a tent in a more secluded area, they've got those too.... More

Spent a week and wish we had longer. Beautiful ocean front campsites, peaceful but with plenty of opportunities for activities. Artists in residence program. Weekly shore front lobster cookouts. Very well maintained and run. One of the best campgrounds I've every stayed in.

I spent the past week at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground, while Karen was the artist in residence. it was a quiet, friendly and relaxing enjoyable week. The Campground was well groomed with fantastic gardens to wonder through. There was only one problem I came across which was with the artist in residence. Her classes were posted on the bulletin Board at... More

If you want to live in a faux hippie commune, stay here. If you want peace and quiet look elsewhere. This excessively groomed campground does have a beautiful shoreline. And that's important, because the beach is the only place you can go here to escape the sounds of gasoline motors being fired up by the seemingly endless minions zooming around... More

Astrig T, Owner at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground, responded to this review

Because we believe that it's foolish to try and be the "perfect" campground for every guest, we have a general policy of not responding to feedback that isn't sent directly to our office. We're diverging from this policy because we feel that Karen clearly did not understand her obligations as an Artist in Residence. We do not want others to... More
