Beautiful small Maine seaside village. Inn is fun but if you are looking for a luxury room this isn't it. No heat our ac in rooms but this was not a problem for us. We chose an en suite room so it was nice having our own bathroom. Not many people here and it was very quiet. Great place for... More

My family has been going to the Higgins Beach Inn for over 40 years. My parents introduced me to the hotel as a child, and I have been returning every few years with my family (and by myself!). This is a place where they give you a real key to your door, has comfy chairs and old magazines to read,... More

There were some positive aspects to this inn but the cons far outweigh the pros. PROS: -close to the beach -inn seems quaint and communal -appears clean CONS: -check-in was brusque, inattentive -inn is dated - to be expected from many beach-area inns -dinner menu is $$$ given the quality (not great) and proximity to Portland (where AMAZING meals can... Nice old Building. Very quaint. Close to the beach. Could be very romantic. Rooms are small and old but nice. Bathrooms are small. Some rooms only have shared bathrooms so make sure you know what you are getting. No tv's in the room and no A/C, so if it's hot you will not be pleased. Fan's are in each room... More

Just loved this beach although small in size it more than made up for its size, this jewel has been hiding from me didn't even know it was there. I would definately go back again next year. The rooms were not big, no AC but it really didn't matter as being near the ocean there was a breeze at night.... More

We spent four nights at the Higgins Beach Inn, and we loved it. It was easy to slow down and relax at the Inn. We had a room on the third floor, looking out the front of the Inn. Each morning we got coffee and pastries and sat in our window and leisurely read the paper. We were glad we... More

This is a favorite summer dining spot for my husband and I. Their restaurant is named "Garofolo's Italian Restaurant" but it does not have its own identity here. I am a long-term Maine resident, and I have to say their baked-stuffed lobster is the best I've EVER had (I think it is not currently on their menu, but call ahead... More

The Higgins Beach Inn is a truly unique place to stay. The inn is very old and rooms are decorated with very old furniture. When we stayed there, with friends from Conneticut, the Inn wasn't open for business. Bob and Diane graciously allowed us to stay, and made the three days a highlight of our second trip to the US. Staff... More

Great food--Personal Service--Go with whatever the Chef recommends. Coastal style Inn with a nice lounge and a great restaurant. Special requests--no problem. Make a weekend of it with that special other and enjoy a slice of heaven. Can't wait to go back.
