Though we rent a cottage at Higgins Beach each year, we always dine at the Higgins Beach Inn as it's convenient to walk to and the food is delicious! We particularly love spending late afternoon time on their deck enjoying some drinks and appetzers with friends. The last time a musician was also playing softly, so that added to the... More

A stay here will take you back in time - so if you want the full amenities of a modern hotel, consider yourself warned! At check-in, you will be given a key and then you will walk up the carpeted stairway to your room. The rooms are quaint, all different. Some have two very tiny beds, some have queen beds... More

The hotel was very quiet when we got there. They gave us a free upgrade to a room with a private bath. The room was very clean and pleasant and close to the beach. The lounge was still open when we were there and there was fruit and cheese available for the guests. The hotel is only two blocks away... More

Ok my wife and I really enjoyed our stay here, but in the wow can you believe hotel stays used to be like this, kind of way. It was only for one night and this places Quirkiness passed off as charm. I might not have felt the same after a few nights. Shared bathrooms, slamming doors, and no tv in... More

This what going to the beach was like when I was a kid. No tv no ac but who cares! The inn is comfortable and the staff is very friendly. There is a great restaurant and a small bar as well. It is spotless and just down the street from the beach

What a great stay. The young ladies working the desk were very nice and helpful. The view... WOW. And the fresh sea air...... The one full bath per floor may be a bit much for folks that do an extended stay. But is still a great place.

I recently was part of a group of high school friends enjoying an overnight at the beach -- the Inn staff was so welcoming and helpful, and the restaurant, Garofalo's, was outstanding. I would especially recommend the Inn for groups.

I have not stayed here for many years however do go to dinner and breakfast while I am on vacation at Higgins Beach. I recently had dinner with my daughter and enjoyed the food but pricey compared to what you can get in Portland. We ate outside which is always fun at night. It would have been nicer if perhaps... Nice location, close to the Higgins Beach Market with their NY Times and home-made sugared chocolate donuts, but the room was cramped, and two people had to come to the room to make the bathroom lights work. The bed was comfortable, and the room (up two flights of steep stairs) was air-conditioned.

We have been coming here for 3 summers now and have greatly enjoyed Bob and Diane's gracious hosting and exquisite cooking at their on site restaurant. The guest rooms are nicely appointed and the inn staff make you feel at home. They go above and beyond to make you comfortable and to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The... More
