We decided to have our wedding at the Black Point Inn after looking at multiple venues, and feeling that each one would be a compromise, except for the BPI. The BPI had everything we were looking for; a large stunning function room, a beautiful lawn facing the ocean, great food and staff that made us feel so welcomed! The BPI... More

Were meeting friends in the Portland area and suggested we meet at the Black Point Inn for breakfast. Turned out, it was the Sunday they would be shutting down for the winter. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast looking out over the inside bay on a beautiful late fall afternoon. Very good breakfast selection, we lingered for awhile. Last visit here... More

We stopped here for lunch over the summer and had the good fortune of a warm, sunny day and the possibility to sit outdoors. All of us enjoyed our lunches, however the burger was amazing! It was freshly ground sirloin on an excellent bun, all perfectly cooked. I've only ever had one better (in a Four Seasons in the Middle... More

The Black Point Inn restaurant was a very unpleasant place to have dinner. The Chart Room was so noisy we could not have a conversation with the other couple at our table. My husband had a rubber lobster tail that was difficult to cut and eat. The sauce was inedible. My $34 scallop dinner had three medium size scallops and... More

For the price, not great. The waitress described one meal with "saffron creme fraiche" as "chiffon cream fresh." One dish was supposedly galette was nothing more than rice baked in a mold. The lamb was tender and properly cooked, but over salted. The desserts, a pumpkin/chocolate cream pie and the house selection of cookies, were without flavor. Prices indicated a... More

Last minute decision to stay the night near Portland and so very glad we did. All hotels were booked in town. Another resort recommended this charming resort accomodation. The reservation assistant was very warm and friendly and extremely accomodating. This is a beautiful setting for a wedding, family get to gether or romantic get a way. The hotel room was... More

This past September was my second visit to Black Point Inn. It will not be my last! I intend to make this at least a once a year visit! (I am working on making it a twice a year visit.) It is the best place to come to when you need that time for your self! The accommodations are sumptuous,... More

My sister wanted to save the best for last as we were heading back to Boston to catch a plane after 5 days in Maine. We stopped in Scarborough, Maine just south east of Portland at Black Point Inn and had the most delightful lunch in the lovely setting right on the bay by Prouts Neck. What views from the... More

We ate at the fine dining restaurant at the Black Point Inn. The staff is fabulous and extremely accomodating. The food is supurb and the view is incredible. Right across the lawn is the ocean with amazing sunsets. There is a pathway that leads around the ocean - probably 3/4 of a mile so you might as well walk all... More
