My fiance and I found this place on TripAdvisor, because we needed a place to stay in the Cape Elizabeth area during our Fall Foliage driving tour. This review covers the motel side of the property - we found that it was a better value for us, since we were on a budget. We can definitely say it is above average... More

This is not Holiday Inn, but.... I knew that going in from other reviews. The place met and exceeded our expectations and we will be back next year. After a few nights visiting relatives in Maine, we spent a Labor Day overnight here before returning home. We had stayed down the street from this inn a few years ago, so... More

We've been staying at the Holiday House for 5 years in a row. I discovered this place 20 years ago when my child was only 2 years old: nothing much have changed. Great family place! The location is great, near Portland, Maine Mall, Freeport... and directly on the BEACH which is the main attraction for my family! And it is... More

Just returned from our annual Maine vacation and our stay at the Holiday House where the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the location is ideal….far enough away from the hustle and bustle of OOB, but close enough to any vacation activity you could want. Our room, in the hotel portion of the Inn, suits our needs just... More

Although we choose the first week of September, to escape the crowds, -- we still enjoy the relative peace and quiet of the Inn for this annual vacation. The staff are helpful and do their best to insure a pleasent stay. The Inn is somewhat dated, but there-in lies it's charm. I can almost imagine my parents enjoying it's soothing... More

Thanks for your kind words....and yes, our furniture does have a little history, but because it was all made in Maine, by Moosehead furniture, we choose to keep it, as it is still highly functional....just not modern. We've tried to keep things as "homey" as possible without going the "chain" look. Once again, Thanks for the review and we look... More

Stayed at this inn for the first time. Rooms in the motel are so-so; old furniture, quite dark, bathroom could use a bit of TLC... but clean, and comfortable. Loved that there was a little sitting area outside our room to relax after dinner. Shared kitchen was great, especially with kids; enough room in the fridge for our juice, milk... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review....it's great to hear what our guests think! As I mentioned in another response, we like to refer to our furniture as having some history to it. It's highly functional, but it was Made In Maine by Moosehead Furniture and that's why we love it. We're trying to stay away from that... More

My family and I have been coming here almost every summer for the past 4-5 years. Perks: beachfront, community kitchen, out of crazy OOB craziness, but close enough by trolley if you have the urge for fried dough and skee ball. Most of the people staying here are from Canada and speak French, which makes it interesting. Many of the... More

We'd like to Thank You for taking the time to put your thoughts into your review. As so many of our guests have different preferences when it comes to bed firmness, you can imagine that not everyone is going to be pleased with our "middle of the road" firmness. Thanks again for the comments and hope to see you again!... More

Motel rooms are in disrepair. The carpet and furnishings are old. The room was dark. The smell was musty and dank. Sorry but I would cross this off my list. I stayed at the Holiday House in early August in the Inn part of the hotel. Although the room was a bit smaller than you average hotel room, it was quaint and nicely decorated. It had a direct view of the Ocean. The Inn offers breakfasts in the dinning room of this converted large vacation home. The beach view eating... More

We stayed in the motel on the 2nd floor. We found it clean and quiet, although kind of dark with so-so furnishings. The beds were okay, pillows hard as rocks. I was glad I brought my own! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The patio is beautiful with lots of comfortable deck chairs, as well as tables with chairs.... More
