We stayed at one of the cottages in October. We loved the cottage. The view of Moosehead Lake and the mountain were beautiful. We were able to cook in our room. The owners, Bonnie and Ron were so nice, friendly, and helpful. It is a long way from our home near Sandy Springs, SC, but I hope we can go... More

We spent our honeymoon at Rockwood Cottages 18 years ago and have come back every year since. Bonnie and Ron are wonderful hosts that became friends and now are a part of our family. The cabins are very comfortable and well maintained. The location on Moosehead Lake is perfect for boating, hiking, and moose watching. There's no place else we'd... More

Cottages on the lake are rustic but modern. Small store is close by. Rent. A boat and you will have a amazing week. This is truly god's country. Hiking a cross the lake. And a ride on the northern road is all you need. You remember your visit forever

This is a follow up review to my last review dated 8-20-2012. Well I stand by my last review that this place is a "paradise found". It was even better the second time around. The week we were there in July 20-27 had most of the same people in the other cabins that were the year before which made it... More

I have been staying at Rockwood Cottages for 17 years and as the owners say "you are only a stranger we haven't met yet!" From the moment you get there you are greeted like family and all the housekeeping cottages are clean, well stocked (and if you need something, just ask). There is two large fire grills for cooking the... More

The cottages are backed by route 15 which is the main route going in and out of Rockwood, this is the same rode that big logging trucks use every day. We arrived to be treated by a very hospitable host/owner operating out of very messy house. I always wonder if the owner cannot keep their own house how they are... More

From the moment you pull up to Rockwood Cottages, perched on a bluff overlooking Moosehead Lake and Mount Kineo, you are welcomed like old friends by hosts Bonnie and Ron Searles. These simple, very clean and comfortable cottages have kitchens and screened porches directly facing the lake. In a few steps, you reach the dock, to jump in for a... More
