I have stayed at the Samoset many times over the years. The location can not be beat. Although I agree with the previous reviewer. I also asked about an upgrade (as a many time return guest) and was told it would be more than double. The hotel was no way near full. I also requested this on my reservations. Our... more

This was my 3rd stay at the Samoset Resort. This time I was on business but took my wife and two kids. The main facility is undergoing some renovations to landscaping/outdoor pool and our room was directly facing the construction, so our view was obstructed. Nonetheless, the resort is a sprawling property on the ocean with amazing views throughout. The... more

I was traveling through New England with 2 teenagers and had no hotel reservation that night. We had just walked out to the lighthouse and trying to decide about where to stay. We could see the resort grounds/properties while we were walking and my son said he wished we could stay there but that it was probably way out of... more

This is the letter I sent to the Resort: Good evening, I had the privilege of staying at your resort Friday and Saturday, February 13 and 14, 2009, as a part of the Maine National Guard Seminar. I want to commend you for the beautiful restoration of that historic facility, but more importantly for your incredible staff. I was warmly... more

Calm, Peace, Quiet The Samoset Resort in Maine is pleasant resort located in the small city of Rockport, Maine. The hotel is located right on a beautiful bay in a secluded area to offer peace and quiet. The rooms are pleasant and cozy at the least. After you finish enjoying the view they are many other activities that you can... more

Stayed in a one bedroom timeshare unit and the views are absolutely beautiful. The restaurants in the resort are great and inexpensive with wonderful food. The Italian buffet was especially nice. The pool is a bit of a walk but everything else is special and relaxing. I have staye din the hotel rooms and they are huge. Everything is well... more

Very large, nicely appointed rooms- perfect for a family. Indoor pool is lovely BUT it is part of a private " health club" using hotel space and is therefore available to all the children in the local area who choose to come- Which certainly changes the atmosphere for those of us looking for a ' resort' experiance. It was very... more

If you're used to staying at great hotels and resorts you'll find a lot not to like at this place. The welcoming threadbare carpet complete with large stains sort of says it all. The rooms are just ok... comfortable but need renovation. They make a big deal of their $3M renovation but that's nothing for a resort like this. It... more

We just returned from vacationing at Samoset July 28-August 1st. Great location, great golf and fabulous staff! The views of the ocean and golf course were amazing..... We took a boat cruise out of Rockport on the 'Morning in Maine' and it was wonderful. The weather, boat and the crew made it extra special too! The rooms are larger than... more

The Samoset Resort is a great oceanfront resort in Rockport, Maine. It's convenient to all the attractions of Penobscot Bay and offers all the amenities of a major resort - restaurants, health club, gift shop, golf, etc. The rooms could use some updating but overall it's a great place to stay if you're visiting this part of Maine. more
