We just returned from a heavenly stay at the Granite Inn. The inn is so convenient to downtown Rockland, with ample parking in front. We had rooms 1-2 on the first floor and they were ideal for our family of 4. We had lots of room, including dressers, armoires, and counter space. Beds and linens were superb as well. My... More

While traveling in Maine, two people suggested Old Granite Inn. My wife called and made a reservation. The owners were so hospitable and the breakfast was outstanding and delicious. The Inn is so convenient to shopping and The Fransworth Museum full of Wyeth treasures. Parking was perfect right out front. We felt very much at home and the other guest... More

Nice view of the harbor, but it is on the main street which can be a little noisy. The inn keepers were friendly and pleasant and the breakfasts were truly exceptional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Centrally located to see the Maine coast, and you can walk to town for the local restaurants.

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Old Granite Inn. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure even though the bathroom was pretty small- that's pretty standard with these historic homes so I'm not complaining. Ed was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed... More

My friend booked the Granite Inn for our road trip to the Lobster Festival in Rockland, Maine. I could not have been happier with the stay. The rooms were clean and decorated with great mid-century style furniture, there was excellent water pressure, it was close to the main street for the restaurants, cafes. pubs and bookshops, directly opposite from the... What a great place to stay in Rockland! Our hosts were Ed and Joan. They were welcoming and friendly. Our 2 bedroom suite was terrific for our family. And the breakfasts! The BEST we have ever had! Just superb!

My husband and I stayed here and had a wonderful experience. It was quiet and very friendly. Ed and Joan were wonderful hosts -- their breakfasts are phenomenal! Ed and Joan were also a wealth of knowledge and friendliness. The rooms are classic; it felt as if we were staying with relatives. The other guests staying there were friendly and... More

We had a great stay during the recent Lobster Festival! What a quaint little town & adorable inn. Everything was pleasant, clean, and great breakfast options! We had an opportunity to chat with the innkeeper and he was so informative of the area and very welcoming! The location was perfect! We walked everywhere!

Very nice and interesting place with an impressive breakfast. The porch, the indoor seating area, and the breakfast room are all very nice. We stayed in Room 10 with the detached bathroom for one night (the bathroom was for our use only and a key was given to us - if we had cared to keep any belongings there, we... More

A mixed family group (me, adult daughter, 3 mo old grandson, adult niece, and, believe it or not, a nearly 9 year old dog) stayed here for 2 nights midweek and enjoyed every aspect of our visit. Joan and Ed were terrific hosts, friendly, full of great recommendations, and created the most welcoming atmosphere for all of us. The breakfasts... More
