My husband and I go to Rockland, Maine as one of our quick get-away places. We have stayed at the Old Granite Inn before and were happy to be returning again. This inn located right across from the harbor and Ferry Terminal on the north end of Main Street. It is within walking distance to restaurants, pubs, the Farnsworth Museum... More

Ed and Joan are the Rock Stars of Inn Keepers. Over the last seven years they have renovated this fine historic inn. Joan (a terrific interior and graphic designer) has put her considerable talent to work on updating the rooms and public spaces without losing the charm and intimate qualities that an inn suggests. Ed's culinary skills make breakfast a... More

We had the good fortune to book at the Old Granite Inn in Rockland in mid October. Had a reservation but then had to change due to the restaurant closing on the day we had planned to dine there. Our hosts at the Inn were most accommodating and we were pleased. We had a room in the old part of... More

I will just say... Wowzas!!. We are just dreaming on our next trip to Maine to stay here again. The place is terrific, so cozy, the food is soooo yummy!!. Ed is super cool. We recommend to visit these places in Rockland: Farnsworth museum and mansion tour, lighthouse museum, walk to the Breakwater lighthouse, drive to Camden and walk around... More

We had driven by this place before not realizing it was a b&b. We just stayed for 2 nights recently and were very pleased with our visit. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet with firm beds, great showers, abundant towels, TV if you want it. The decor is not heavily colonial/Victorian/artsy which my husband dislikes. We stayed in 2... More

We just returned from a heavenly stay at the Granite Inn. The inn is so convenient to downtown Rockland, with ample parking in front. We had rooms 1-2 on the first floor and they were ideal for our family of 4. We had lots of room, including dressers, armoires, and counter space. Beds and linens were superb as well. My... More

While traveling in Maine, two people suggested Old Granite Inn. My wife called and made a reservation. The owners were so hospitable and the breakfast was outstanding and delicious. The Inn is so convenient to shopping and The Fransworth Museum full of Wyeth treasures. Parking was perfect right out front. We felt very much at home and the other guest... More

Nice view of the harbor, but it is on the main street which can be a little noisy. The inn keepers were friendly and pleasant and the breakfasts were truly exceptional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Centrally located to see the Maine coast, and you can walk to town for the local restaurants.

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Old Granite Inn. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure even though the bathroom was pretty small- that's pretty standard with these historic homes so I'm not complaining. Ed was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed... More

My friend booked the Granite Inn for our road trip to the Lobster Festival in Rockland, Maine. I could not have been happier with the stay. The rooms were clean and decorated with great mid-century style furniture, there was excellent water pressure, it was close to the main street for the restaurants, cafes. pubs and bookshops, directly opposite from the...
