Wonderful experience! The inn is in a great location just across from the harbor, the rooms are very reasonably priced, the breakfast is amazing and the hosts are gracious and accommodating. You will love this B&B.

What a gem of an inn! It is meticulously clean and located within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. We were greeted warmly by the owner and shown to our room (#3). He gave us a quick tour of the hotel amenities (complimentary coffee, water, and cookies) and showed us how to work the electric fireplace. The room was... More

This is a great location, and the Innkeepers are very wonderful and kind! Pet friendly was an important factor, and we had a wonderful large, spacious room that was very comfortable with a great private bathroom. The common space is beautiful and comfortable to sit and read, use the wifi or just relax and do nothing. I was attending a... More

My wife and I just spent a great day in the Rockland area, very much enjoyed the Granite Inn...location at end of Maine St. across from ferry was perfect, room 9 suite was huge and off the street, very tasteful furnishings unlike many other over-the-top B&B's. Ed a very welcoming innkeeper.

My wife and I stayed at the Inn in October 2014, and had a wonderful time. The rooms were spotless and cozy, and our room had a great view of the harbor. The common areas of the Inn were comfortable, and we spent a few nights reading on the couches and listening to the relaxing music playing. The Inn is... More

We stayed at the Old Granite in for a weekend in January. Why go to Maine in January you might ask? We were there for the Pies on Parade Festival. The innkeepers were friendly. They put out a very substantial breakfast which if I hadn't been gearing up for a day of pie eating I would have really taken time... More

I have stayed at the Old Granite Inn four times in 2014-2015. Ed and Joan are what the Japanese might call "National Living Treasures", and create a warm and comfortable environment for visitors, helpful but not intrusive. Ed cooks a generally fabulous breakfast, and friends tell me I keep going back in the hopes crab fritters will be on the... More

We stayed at the Old Granite Inn for the 2015 Pies on Parade event. We had room six which has a lovely view of the harbor and is a bright comfortable room when sun shines. The inn puts out a very hearty breakfast and has an ample supply of hot beverages always available. The location is excellent, just a short... More

My husband and I go to Rockland, Maine as one of our quick get-away places. We have stayed at the Old Granite Inn before and were happy to be returning again. This inn located right across from the harbor and Ferry Terminal on the north end of Main Street. It is within walking distance to restaurants, pubs, the Farnsworth Museum... More

Ed and Joan are the Rock Stars of Inn Keepers. Over the last seven years they have renovated this fine historic inn. Joan (a terrific interior and graphic designer) has put her considerable talent to work on updating the rooms and public spaces without losing the charm and intimate qualities that an inn suggests. Ed's culinary skills make breakfast a... More
