We stayed at the Inn while visiting my mother in Rockland. Since few places allow dogs, we were pleased to find someplace as nice as the Old Granite Inn that did. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated and the breakfasts were outstanding. Ed even invited my mother to come over and have breakfast with us. Since the weather... More

My boyfriend and I adored the Old Granite Inn from the moment we arrived. Ed and Joan were delightful, the common rooms were beautifully furnished, and our room (#7) was immaculate, modern, stylish, and fun. We stayed for two nights-- and we really didn't want to leave. Breakfast was incredible: quiche, fresh fruit, local coffee, handmade muffins, delectable frittata... it... More

My wife and I live in South Florida and was so looking forward to our first trip to Maine and our first experience staying in a Bed and Breakfast. We flew into Portland and drove up to Rockland, it was such a nice drive. After arriving in Rockland we checked into the Old Granite Inn and was greeted by the... More

We spent 5 nights here as our base while we travelled up and down the coast. The rooms are clean and the breakfasts were amazing. The innkeeper was so personable and we learned a lot about the area just by spending time asking him questions. Loved that he gave us restaurant recommendations and pointed us in the direction of some... More

My husband and I recently stayed there while on vacation traveling through Maine. I wasn't sure what to expect at first glance, but loved it. The rooms were nice, clean and the innkeeper was very friendly. He gave us recommendations on things to do in town, as it was our first time there. The breakfast the next day was delicious.... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Granite Inn. The lobby is very inviting and the dining room is quite nice as well. The hotel is conveniently located near the ferry dock, the Farnsworth Museum, and downtown shops and restaurants. The most memorable part of our stay was BREAKFAST! Every evening a menu for the next... More

Situated right across from the ferry docks, at the end of town, so it is walkable to all the stores and places to eat. What better place to be? Our room was nicely furnished, comfy bed, nice bathroom. The Inn was very clean. Breakfast was a spread. A menu was slid under our door the night before. There were about... More

We stayed here for the lobster festival and had a great time. Ed & Joan are fabulous hosts and provide a delicious breakfast and yummy afternoon cookies! The front porch was great for watching the parade as well as enjoying a bottle of wine.

We stayed at the Granite Inn while visiting Rockland for the lobstah festival. Perfect! Short walking distance to the festival, shops and restaurants. Great front porch for viewing the parade although we had to leave before the parade began. The breakfasts Ed prepares are on a scale with the finest restaurants anywhere. First morning, quiche Lorraine, frittata with goat cheese... More
