What a wonderful bed & breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My husband and I decided to go to Rockland on a weekend getaway for just the two of us. We took the Maine Eastern Railroad and walked to the hotel which is right off of Main Street US Rt 1. This made it very convenient to anything that we... More

We are so glad to hear that your get away was so enjoyable. The "urban garden" area is very special and a nice surprise for most of our guests - we are very happy to hear you had some extra time there. Hope to see you again soon! More

we stayed for 3 nights to enjoy Maine for the first time, and timed our visit to coincide with the Lobster Festival. Clean, comfy bed, very nice and pleasant staff and owner! The inn was full, but when in our room we never heard our neighbors, it's well insulated. we would stay again if we return to Maine. It's a... More

We spent a long weekend kayaking near Rockland and stayed in the Captain Lindsey House for three nights. Our room (number 5) was quite spacious, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was made to order and quite good, and coffee and tea were conveniently available from quite early in the morning for early risers. The inn is just off... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We are so glad that you enjoyed yourself and loved our new mattresses. We think that is one of the most important parts of a great stay, a sumptuous, comfortable bed. We hope to see you again soon. More

I love this place. It is so authentic. The owners did a wonderful job of preserving the historical ambience. Our room, #5, was beautiful, spacious and surprisingly quiet. The bed and linens were great quality and it was so nice to sink into the bed after our six hour drive from NY. I would definitely stay here again.

Whilst researching for a cute place to stay mid-coast, I had come across the website for this inn and moved on. While my husband and appreciate historic properties, we look for renovated & updated furnishings / amenities, which the website didnt display. Still searching for a place to stay, I checked Groupon and found what looked like beautiful, updated rooms... More

Happily surprised. Beautiful old fashion architecture but with modern amenities. Clean, wonderful service that was more than I ever expected. I loved the breakfast- they had many great options. The staff was very knowledgeable of the area and gave great recommendations of things to do in the area. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. I... More

The new owner of the Captain Lindsey House has pulled out the stops in redecorating while keeping the character of the Inn. Furniture in all rooms have been changed with other decorations added. Patricia is still the innkeeper and does a fabulous job. The new colors are keeping with the colonial nature of the house, paintings and other artwork are... More

Thank you so much for your review. We have tried very hard to keep the great flavor of Captain Lindsey House while giving it a fresh, new nautical feel. The "locals" opinion is very important to us and for those who consider CLH a home away from home, we want to continue that wonderful tradition. More

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the inn tremendously. It is clean, friendly, comfortable, and the food was excellent.. There was a nice parlor, and daily papers were available, as well as other magazines. There were a few light snacks, and you could always make yourself a nice cup of tea-very important as the weather was cold and raw.... More

Another couple and we reserved two months ago. We were not given one of the rooms we requested; moreover, neither room we stayed in looked even remotely like the photographs of those rooms on the website. Both rooms were dreary, dark, weirdly furnished. The two "easy" chairs in our room were SO deep and huge that we could not sit... More

We are so sorry that your stay at the inn obviously occurred as the rooms were being redesigned with a new nautical feel. We are very happy that you enjoyed the comfy new king beds and the sumptuous bed linens and towels - other guests have said the same. We appreciate our guests feedback and have taken yours into account. More

The Captain Lindsey remains excellent. The Inn changed hands in February. The new owners are committed to keeping the Inn at the forefront of historic captain's houses in the Mid-Coast area. Having discussed their plans with them, I am happy to find their interest in keeping the Inn as it has been and will be making some changes to the... More
