A beautiful old house with an updated feel. The public rooms are attractive and include paintings (which are for sale) by local artists -- like having a little gallery right in the building. The rooms are very comfortable and freshly decorated with items that evoke the seaside and history of the area without seeming cutesy or dated. Breakfast was terrific... More

We have stayed at two other inns in Rockland, but despite being in impressive Victorian era homes, they were a little too stuffy/feminine for us. The Lindsey is an interesting building, and it's located just off Main Street (near all the bars/restaurants, Farnsworth Museum etc.) We had a spacious, stylish, king room on the first floor (the only noise issue... Thank you for your review - we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We are glad you enjoy the more contemporary feel - we are definitely not your grandmother's B&B but we are hearing a lot of our guests appreciate it. Come back and stay with us again soon! More

This was my 3rd year staying at this Inn. My first under the new ownership with the new innkeeper Mary. While I liked it the prior 2 years this was by far the best year ever! I can't say enough about Mary and her staff. Every last detail was thought of before we even asked. The back deck is like... More

Positives: Nicely furnished rooms; neat, unfussy decor. Cleanliness was good except a previous guest's soap was in the shower; comfortable bed. Hot breakfast was average but goods from local bakery and dairy were excellent. Very nice back garden area for a glass of wine or breakfast. Negatives: While inn is smoke-free, innkeeper who greeted us smelled strongly of cigarette smoke... More

My wife and I enjoy 3 wonderful days at the Captain Lindsey House Inn. The service was great, the room was great, and the food was great. They went out of their way to make our trip special. I would recommend this inn to any and all.

On a family vacation with my two young children and husband when we booked a room via a travel site a week prior. We had a 3 hour drive to Rockland and upon arriving before check-in we needed to use the facilities so we stopped at the Inn, all our bags still in the car. We were greeted by a... More

My husband and I stayed at this bed and breakfast for 2 nights. The rooms were lovely and the bed was so comfortable. The whole house was beautifully maintained and had multiple common areas, indoors and out, for us to enjoy. Breakfast was made to order, in addition to fresh seasonal fruit, yogurt, granola and in-house baked goods. Mary was... More

We felt so welcomed the minute we walked in. The innkeeper showed us around and brought us straight to our beautiful room. She was so accommodating and willing to go the extra mile like suggest places for dinner and even offered to make is a reservation. The location is so central to downtown and everything is within walking distance. The... More

Thank you for your review. The "urban garden" as we like to call it really is a gem and we love that guests enjoy it so much. We love being so in the middle of things yet have this green space hidden in the back. We hope to see you again soon! More

This was a very nice accommodations with its rich history and nautical décor. Breakfast was hearty and they are using locally sourced food when available. Staff was very accommodating to our requests and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. We stayed on the highest floor and did not have any noise issues and the bed was very comfy!
