I have read the other post and it seems everyone has a different opinion of this motel. Keep in mind we are not comparing it to a H---n Hotel but, is the motel clean, comfortable beds, quiet, etc. This motel is situated on a cliff next to the ocean. It is an older motel but the owners have done an... More

This family owned and operated motel and restaurant are stuck in a timewarp of the 70's, along with the grime, decor tastelessness and sense of a style beyond artificial (dusty) flowers and and an uncomfortable overload of bleck and chintziest all in one. The food is straight off the Sysco truck, with limited to NO creativity and plated lacklusterly and... More

Redclyffe Shore Motel We were driving north on Hwy 1 heading toward northern Maine and planning to stay in Calais. As we approached this attractive looking motel, we checked it out. Good move. The rate was reasonable, the people friendly, the room large, clean and spacious, and the view beautiful (see pic). On the negative side, they don’t offer a... More

We recently stayed at the Redclyffe after a friend recommended we try the dining room while travelling through. We stayed for one night in the motel and had dinner at the restaurant. The rooms are very basic but clean. No breakfast of any kind is provided, which is a "miss", as it is not close to any other services. It... More

This was our second stay at the Redclyffe shore motel. There are not a lot of good choices in the Calais Maine area, but we think this is the best choice. The motel is dated, but it was clean and reasonably priced. Travelers should not expect anything more than basic accomodations, but they are satisfactory. After having traveled a fairly... More

We stayed 4 nights. The views were beautiful. To look out the picture window of our room we could see the rise and fall of the Bay of Fundy. Just amazing!!! The room was very clean with a.c. and big plus for us, no animals allowed!!!! The staff was friendly and gave us information on things to do and places... More

Stayed during the week of July4th.....was such a delight in every way.The rooms were spacious and very clean. Had a magnificent view off the deck of our room and was blessed with glorious weather the whole time we were there. The owners were very informative about places of interest in the area as it was my first visit to Maine... More

Don't miss out on the seafood chowder as well as all the other delicious seafood here(such as fresh scallops, and haddock with lobster sauce), because we found it to be the best not only in the area, but the whole State of Maine as well. The restaurant is very charming, romantic and full of ambiance, with great views across the... More

The rooms are clean, the food is great and the staff is very welcoming. There is easy access to the St. Croix and there was a beautiful view from our room. The resturaunt also has a beautiful view of the water along with great service and delicious food. I had the Raspberry Haddock with rice and veg and my husband... More

There aren't a lot of places to stay in the area, so it's hard to make a fair comparison. It was the only place with no reports of bed bugs, which was a plus. The room was large. Reviews of tepid hot water were spot on. The office said there was no wifi, although you could connect to a page... More
