We stayed at the Ramada in July for one night. It was a Saturday so the nightly rate was very high. This made it all the more disappointing since we paid so much. I kept thinking we could have stayed at a 4 star hotel in downtown Boston for the same price! We traveled with kids so the pool was... More

We just returned from a weekend vacation in Portland, Maine. The city was amazing. However, the Ramada Plaza Portland was a bit pricey for what it offered and was too far from the heart of the city. We had to drive about 20 minutes to get into Portland proper and there was nothing to do in the vicinity of the... More

I had no problems with the Ramada. It wasn't fancy but I didn't expect fancy. Everything was clean, and the pool and hot tubs were all heated appropriately and in good condition. It was also an easy drive to get to downtown Portland. The only major downside was the free wifi, it was bad. We couldn't connect to it on... More

Spent a night in August and it was humid out, however the HVAC unit was completely inadequate and it was one of the least enjoyable stays I've had in a hotel. Even with the A/C set to 67 degrees, it just could not remove nearly enough moisture from the air and we spent the entire night feeling cold yet clammy.... More

Please accept my apologies for the issues you experienced with the air conditioner. Typically, the units can easily handle any temperature situations and with the digital thermostats the room can be kept very comfortable. I wish you had called the front desk, we would have been happy to have someone check the unit to ensure that it was set and... More

We had a pleasant stay here from the beginning. The front desk staff was very friendly and attentive, and our room was comfy. We got this hotel from one of those mystery deal websites and were under the impression that it would be closer to downtown. Nonetheless, the drive to downtown wasn't too bad at all. The workout room was... More

This ex-Howard Johnson motel is in need of a complete overhaul. We had hoped that with the Ramada name, it would have been brought up to their standards, but no such luck. The location is ideal for us, but we will be looking for brighter, newer place for our next visit to the Portland area.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent visit. I am sorry that you didn’t notice the substantial upgrades that we have made over the past year. The new guest room bathrooms featuring granite vanities have been very well received as have many of the other improvements such as new drapes and bed toppings in all of... More

Twelve minutes from downtown Portland, this hotel is very well located and will save you a lot of money as opposed to staying right smack in the middle of the action. Clean, quiet, and well run with friendly workers. There is a Dunkin Donuts right around the corner, although my room had a coffee maker. Plenty of vending machines if... More
