We were at Wild Iris Inn for three days from April 11th 2009 and I must say I was quite worried about it, having read the reviews here. We were pleasantly surprised at how wrong they were. The room was beautiful, with a lot of closet space, bathroom was in perfect order and we had no problems whatsoever with ho... more

We enjoyed two nights at the Wild Iris Inn, which is an easy walk from First Fridays Art Walk and the Portland Art Museum. We got excellent restaurant recommendations and directions from the owner. The homemade granola was the high point of a lovely continental breakfast. Bed was firm, room-darkening shades made it easy to sleep in. Fellow guests were... more

I liked this B&B, despite the other somewhat negative reviews I saw on Trip Advisor. It is very conveniently located, within walking distance of downtown Portland. I especially liked the common areas, particularly having access to a computer and refrigerator for guests' use. The breakfast was a very good continental breakfast, and it was nice to have tea accessible any... more

Great location. Our room was a bit small with the bathroom just down the hall. Make sure you book a room with the bathrom in the room. Breakfast was OK., have had better at other b&b's. Lots of stairs so if you have trouble with them, do not stay at the Wild Iris. Innkeeper was very knowledgeable on area attractions... more

Issues with this place: - We got told twice that there was parking available - A LIE. There was no parking available (all spots were taken) and the sidewalk was under construction so we had to park around the block on a seedy street where cars are "usually" safe and drag our bags and ourselves through dirt sidewalks to the... more

We stayed during the off season. You'd think the owner would be pleased to have anyone, but after she got our money she acted like she couldn't wait for us to leave. We very rarely saw her, which was nice. She's a little rude. The fruit was off (going bad) the first and last day I was there. The one-ply... more

My boyfriend and I weren't impressed with the Wild Iris Inn. For the price, I there MUST be better choices in Portland. A lot of things could have been improved in this B&B. First, the Inn needs a remodel--badly. And how cheap is the owner to charge over $150/night and only provide 1-ply toilet paper? Crimany. The bed was uncomfortable... more

We arrived at the location after dark, but it seemed easy to find. It is on a one-way street, and there is a cross-street 2 houses down. That is where we parked. The street seemed to be a major street, but, from inside, it was not noisy. We entered and our room was the Iris Room, 2 floors up and... more

We were very disappointed with the Inn and room. We booked and paid for a nicer looking room with a private bath. When we arrived, we were shown to a poorly decorated room with a shared bathroom down the hall. When we brought it to the Innkeepers attention, she asked if we changed it and told us we couldn't have... more

This inn is very charming and comfortable. We stayed there with another couple, and both of us felt that the owner was very cordial and helpful, the rooms were charming, and the location was very convenient to interesting restaurants, museums, and shops on upper Congress St. It was also near to Deering Oaks Park, a nice place for a walk.... more
