A very poor experience of American Bed and Breakfast. This dark, unwelcoming Inn (only a letter stuck in reception area) in a yet to be developed area of Portland Old Town fell well short of its advertised luxurious accommodation. The furniture was old and tired with noisy floor boards and a very basic breakfast was poor value for money at... more

Honestly me and my husband came for some time away from kids..you know alone time and peace. The inn has seven rooms, you would'nt be able to tell because it was so quiet. The innkeeper was not there but the two women in the office made a great kind of unique breakfast. They were both very polite and pretty funny.... more

I made a reservation at the Percy Inn before checking out all the comments on this site, and once I saw all the negative reviews I was a little hesitant about staying here. However, I shouldn't have worried. My husband and I have no idea why this inn garnered so many poor reviews. Our room (Dorothy Parker) was tastefully decorated... more

Having traveled extensively and stayed at many inns over the years, I can truly say that I was not only disappointed, but frankly, slightly offended by our experience. Our confirmation email should have been the first hint. Unlike any other I have received, it had extensive information about the Draconian cancellation policy (which was never mentioned on the phone), penalties... more

First off, I want to say that I never write reviews! We all have been to places that were either great or not so great, but sometimes you just take the bad with the good. Not here! I was trying to think about the best part of the Percy Inn, and sadly I couldn't really think of one. Everything that... more

We love the Percy Inn. We have stayed their for business and for fun. The Innkeeper, Dale, has considered all the little needs one might have when traveling, i.e. umbrella to borrow in your room, canvas bag in room for shopping, sodas in mini-fridge at no charge, excellent snacks, candles in room for ambience, beautifully appointed rooms, etc. The Innkeeper... more

There is no "common" area to really enjoy the Inn. The living room is very small and dark. So basically you are either outside in the town or in your room. Felt very confining. The breakfast was lacking. No homemade touches. The hosipitality at the Inn was really lacking. In Fairness, the Innkeeper was out of town and maybe things... more

I stayed in the Ralph Waldo Emerson Room for two nights. I arrived quite late the first night and, although I noticed some traffic noise, I was eventually able to fall asleep on the comfortable bed. The second night, I was awakened at 5:15 a.m. by the shrill sound of what seemed to be a cell phone alarm comning from... more

Do not stay in the Emerson room - it was added on to the original inn this year and backs up to the kitchen and is across the street from a lively bar where people stand outside and smoke. We never saw the innkeeper. Breakfast was boring at best. We would have had a better night's sleep and breakfast at... more
