After reading other reviews, my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel location is great-in the Arts District near museums and music venues. The common spaces were lovely. I particularly enjoyed the views from the rooftop bar and the historic photos on the first floor. The room itself needed updating (the bathroom had a weird layout and the ceiling was water-damaged and flaking); however, it was easy to overlook these flaws given our... More

This hotel is centrally located in the West End, close to everything, in fact, after parking in the garage, we didn't have to leave it once, but, that garage is pricey...$19/day. The entrance to the hotel from the garage is through a looooooong corridor, and its not quite clear where the front desk is....when you get to the large open area, where you assume it should be, you look around like a deer in headlights,... I stayed here in the summer of 2010. I'm sorry, I hate giving poor reviews, but I did not enjoy my stay here. This property is very old, dark and uninviting. I never thought I'd critique about a room being too big. But the room I was in was massive and did not have enough lights to brighten it up. The TV was miles from the bed and it had a tiny bathroom in the... More

Dear JourneyThruTheLens, Thank you so much for your review. We truly appreciate your sincerity and apologize for not making your stay as wonderful as you had hoped for. The Eastland Park Hotel has been recently purchased and will close down in a few weeks for a full renovation. The extensive project will turn the hotel into a beautiful and inviting Westin, member of the Starwood Family. We hope for your return once our doors reopen... More

We recently stayed at a similar hotel (similar vintage) in Pennsyvania. That hotel was so beautifully kept, that it is heartbreaking to see what has been done to this old beauty --- the Eastland Park. Somewhere (probably the 1970's) along the line, someone authorized an incredible butcher job of a rehab on this place. In its day, it was truely a gem. Now, it is strange and could almost remind you of that hotel in... More

While getting ready to go out to dinner I discovered that the the entire hotel was without any hot water at all. The response was incredibly inadequate. I was offered $40 off the price of my room. I think that it is fair to expect a warm shower in even the most mediocre hotel. The Eastland Park is terrible. I won't come back ever. More

This hotel must have been quite grand back in the day. It is in great need of a renovation! The carpet in my room was worn and stained and the walls were not much better. The staff were very eager to please, but I would not stay here again until they have freshened up the place. Could be lovely again with some updating! More

Dear MassBizGal, Thank you so much for your feedback. We look forward to having you back when the hotel reopens towards the end of 2013. We will be closing for an extensive renovation at the end of April. The renovation will turn the hotel into a beautiful Westin, part of the Starwood family. Have a wonderful day! Warmly, Anca Potvin More

My husband booked a night here for my visit while he was performing at Portland Stage. The room (#830) was clean, large and the bed was very comfy. We were particularly happy that one of windows opened! I love old hotels; the Eastland's lobby is amazing and hopefully the scheduled renovation will actually be a restoration of this well situated historic property. More

This hotel is a great place to stay. Affordable and full of old time charm it's a nice alternative to the usual chain hotels, although it does'nt have all of the perks. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood is quaint. More

This hotel needs major renovations in every way! The staff tries to help the guests with all its shortcomings, but run (don't walk) to another property! More

Some reviews made me nervous about this hotel, but I was pleasantly suprised. It was beautiful & clean when we walked in, much nicer than I had expected. We stayed in room 805. It was very comfortable and clean, my only complaints would be that the bathroom was very small and didn't have a sink - the sink was right inside the door at the end of a short hallway....a little unusual, but was definately...
