THis is not a review of the hotel, which most people regard as a nice place to stay. The outside seating is very well done and inviting, tables arranged around the roundabout in front of the hotel, the lighting is understated and the menu is large enough. I was drawn there while looking for a place to end an evening... More

My husband and I are local. We have stayed here a couple times overnight and always had a wonderful time. Today we decided to try the spa for a deep tissue massage. From start to finish, the Regency Spa does it right. You are welcomed with a tour of the spa, including the hot tub, steam room, saunas and locker... More

Great location. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Spa massage services were average. Restaurant was above average for breakfast. Easy to walk to the water and around the old port. Pleasant staff and overall service. Everyone was helpful during our stay.

My out of town guests really enjoy the Regency in Portland. Walking distance to everything. Thank you for always showing our family and friends a great visit. When I was there last night to say goodbye, we enjoyed a nice snack while waiting for the rain to subside (didn't). It was very nice. Amybeth Hurst, Portland, ME

My wife and I visit the Portland waterfront occasionally and when we do we always stay at the Regency. Rooms are unbelievable especially the suites! We usually go off season as the rates are cheaper and the area is not quite so insane as summer time. But, the staff is always friendly and helpful, the lounge, restaurant and coffee/tea service... I just spent 3 days here attending a conference and was thoroughly impressed with the hotel. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is also fabulous and the location is perfect for exploring the lovely city of Portland.

Full disclosure - I am not a huge fan of historic hotels. They tend to have some peculiarities that annoy more than amuse me. The Portland Regency is no exception. I forked out the extra 30 or so dollars to have a room with a balcony. I got the balcony - with view of a parking garage! Like many older... More

This is a beautiful historic hotel that has updated the rooms so they are well appointed. There is a nice spa as well. It is right in the heart of old Portland and a close walk to the waterfront and other districts. The lounge and tavern area could use a little sprucing up and the service is a bit spotty.... More

The Regency had nicely updated rooms but kept its historic, quaint feel. I especially enjoyed the central location and complimentary coffee and newspaper delivery. The hotel's restaurant offers an extensive, yet somewhat expensive, selection for breakfast. Will definitely return.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at our property. Our guests often comment that they enjoy our complimentary coffee and newspaper delivery. Perhaps on your next visit you can schedule a Spa Treatment in our tranquil Spa located on the ground floor. Thank you again for the feedback and we hope to have you stay with us again... More
