The Regency had nicely updated rooms but kept its historic, quaint feel. I especially enjoyed the central location and complimentary coffee and newspaper delivery. The hotel's restaurant offers an extensive, yet somewhat expensive, selection for breakfast. Will definitely return.

I think one of my favorite parts of this hotel was the location. Although my husband and I only stayed one night we really got to experience Portland within a few blocks of the Regency. We walked to the harbor, shopped at really unique boutiques and had two great meals nearby. Our room was large with a balcony attached where... More

On our way to Vinalhaven we always spend the night in Portland to enjoy all that the city has to offer--awesome food, a great music scene, and friendly people. Our favorite place to stay is the Regency. While a bit on the expensive side, we find it to be worth it for the comfortable rooms, charming ambiance, and helpful staff.... More

All I can say is that is was wonderful. Loved the location - it was close to everything, loved the room, loved the spa. Service was excellent and the staff courteous! Would revisit without any hesitations.

Hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating for our one night stay and even gave us rides to and from our dinner restaurant in their open-sided electric car. Room was comfortable and quiet with a good mattress and soft sheets. Bathroom was spacious, but only one sink on the long counter. Shower stall had a lovely contemporary shower head. Amentiies... Our first visit to Portland and the Regency was an excellent choice - Right in the center of where you want to be. We were in a 4th floor room with a balcony - a premium price but well worth it! Room was large and well appointed. Fridge, microwave and coffee in the room. The Armory bar is charming, dark... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. The downstairs bar was nice, friendly staff with free snacks! The room was clean and the robes comfy. The coffee was good and we would come back here anytime. In a good location to walk around and shop and eat (Fore Street was amazing for dinner!).

During the last 4 years while our daughter attended College in Maine we had the opportunity to stay at the Regency many times. It was always a pleasure and we always left wanting more. On this last trip we tried out the new 4th floor rooms with the outside decks - what a treat! Even in the rain it was... More

Portland Regency is the city's old armory and that historic distinction, along with its exceptional period architecture and near-waterfront location, make the hotel an excellent choice for a weekend of exploring this hip Maine city. We spent the night here to see a concert walking distance from the property (just about everything is), and that made the stay doubly enjoyable... More

Headed to Portland ME last weekend for my wife's birthday - a quick 24 hour getaway. Had a tremendous experience at the Portland Regency - a historic hotel located right in the heart of Old Portland. And a better location it couldn't have been - an easy walk to everything. We were quickly and warmly greeted by the valet (you... More
