This hotel has the best location in the old port area. Restaurants, shops, bay area are all a short walk away. The room (227) was very clean and the bed very comfy. Very good price. Staff was great. Be sure to take advantage of the complimentary coffee and pastries delivered to your door at your specified time. Valet parking ($5...

Came up here for a night in April. I've never been to Portland so I was worried about location, etc. But this delivered. The Regency is in an old Armory very close to lots of things and pretty much right in the Old Port.
Upon arriving, I noticed there was a bit of renovation going on so I was concerned,...

This is just a great place for business travellers or anyone who wants a great stay. The rooms are nicely done and regularly updated (ask for upper floors facing the harbor). Restaurant has good food and great service--Armory bar is all a bar should be.
I have also used the conference rooms and spa services and was very pleased with...

We have stayed multiple times here and it is our favorite hotel in Portland. Incredible walkability and with valet parking, in and out is not an issue. With historic roots, it is a great blend of old and new, large conference and lobby areas, spacious, comfortable rooms. 20 Milk Street restaurant is wondeful and elegant, and invitingly warm. Knowledgable staff...

A lovely hotel (under renovation) in the center of the 'old port'. A perfect location for business or leisure stays.
The staff is excellent, helpful and efficient.
The rooms are comfortable. Feather comforters on beds. Wireless Internet .
But most important whatever you may need/want just pick up the phone and ask.
This place is worth a visit even if...

We went here this weekend for two night. As others have said, they are doing construction from 8AM - 6pm seven days a week. I don't care too much about construction noise as I get up early, but it would be hard to sleep in. The hotel is a converted armory and the rooms can be a little different. We...

We stayed at the Portland Regency for one night at the end of April. The hotel staff was courteous and the lobby area and common areas were pretty and comfortable. We were aware that parts of the hotel were undergoing renovation before staying here, but we didn't expect to be assigned a third-floor room literally abutting the areas under construction....

As a frequent customer of the Regency since the year 2000, I have just one question. When, oh when, will the Armory Lounge serve decent food ? I remember the first years fondly, in 2001 etc when you could go to the Regency for wonderful fresh smoked salmon with creme fraiche, and a "regency wrap" - delicious. However, over the...

I've stayed at the Portland regency in Portland, Maine, twice now. The location is terrific - easy to walk anywhere in this charming downtown. The employees of the hotel are friendly and accommodating. My husband used the gym and steam room in our most recent visit and was very impressed by the cleanliness and the kindness of the staff. Also,...
