Nice location, walking distance from shops and restaurants in downtown. It is definitely not waterfront as the name says...A very busy hotel, busy breakfast, busy social events Monday -Wednesdays. The beds are extremely uncomfortable for the ones like me that prefer firm beds, also very limited TV channels. House keeping is very nice and friendly in contrast with the not... More

When we drove up, I was very surprised at the location. No waterfront and it looks like a warehouse district. However, inside it was a nice, new hotel and our room was very attractive. You could comfortably stay there for a week . It was a few blocks from the downtown area where there were lots of restaurants and nightlife.... More

This property lives up to all of the positive TA reviews. Very modern, clean, convenient location to waterfront and many eateries. Staff very friendly, breakfast was a bit hectic (weekend stay) & carparking was easy next door with multiple in/out access (self park) for $12/24hr through RI (carpark rate was $31/24hr).

Stay away from this hotel. Front desk staff members were extremely rude and unhelpful. Worst Marriott hotel ever stayed. Room had very thin walls and heard all of the neighbors. The venting system rumbled loudly throughout the nights. Only saving grace was the buffet breakfast.

If you want to stay in Portland within easy walking distance of all the tourist attractions then this hotel does the job very well and more. The staff are great - from reception through to the effervescent Bob who will drive you to anywhere you want in the minibus. we had a studio room with a view of the water... More

Everything about our stay at this hotel was perfect. Great room (dishwasher and all!) Comfy bed Clean Nice Pool Friendly Staff Decent Breakfast Ideal location, quick walk to the eastern prom and to downtown. Check out Arabica Coffee Roasters right accross the street while you're there it doesn't look like much from the outstide but it was SO GOOD

This hotel didn't have an impressive lobby but the suite that we ended up with was fantastic. We even used their indoor swimming pool which was very nicely maintained with the attendants checking the water quality on schedule. Breakfast was included and coffee tea available at all hours-these were nice perks. I was worried about location but pleasantly discovered several... More

We wanted a hotel that was within walking distance of the Port-based activities in Portland. The Embassy Suites seemed a good choice. And the hotel, overall, worked out well. Here's our "take" on the place: 1. Relatively new facility so everything was clean, comfortable, and fresh. We liked the hotel, in general. 2. Breakfast buffet was well stocked and very... More

We made a last minute decision to stay in Portland as our ultimate destination was a little farther than we wanted to travel that day. Overall, very happy with the room. Bed was comfortable (much more so than the last residence inn we stayed at in Springfield, MA). Location was nice and close to the waterfront trail - great trail... More

Portland, ME is not a JW Marriott or Ritz Carlton sort of town, and this Residence Inn more than fits the bill for a nice, comfortable place to stay when visiting Portland. The location is great for walking along the waterfront, visiting Old Port, and exploring the hip little restaurants up the hill from the hotel on Congress Avenue. This... More
