My husband and I stayed for 3 nights end of July into Aug. We came from NJ just to explore the city and the surrounding area. The hotel was clean and accommodating. Great continental breakfast, clean pool, coffee available 24/7 and they offer a complimentary hotel shuttle which can drop off & pick up anywhere in the downtown area. The... More

Looking forward to a nice family stay in Portland I checked into the Residence in (should note I am a Platinum Marriott Member with over 450 nights). I requested a room upgrade (which is policy for Platinum member of space available they are suppose to do what they can if possible), they quickly said no. Asked why and she said... More

We stayed 4 nights at this Residence Inn. The location is about 2 blocks from the harbor area so very close to walk to catch the ferries running to various islands. Check in was quick via a very nice young man named Brian---turned out he is from our hometown in NC and knew many of the people my older children... More

I just read the poor review that was left prior and they must have been elsewhere. This place was a couple blocks off the water but as close as can be. The people were so absolutely nice and attentive. The room was perfectly clean and large which always makes for comfort. I did not use the pool but it seemed... More

Where to start.....Firstly the hotel, despite it's name is not on the waterfront. Check in was slow with one member of staff just sitting around chatting and distracting the other staff. (Same thing on check out). We booked a water view room - what we got was a view of a carpark and a warehouse/factory. Complaining got us nowhere. We... More

This was our first trip to Portland, Maine. We had chosen this hotel on the basis of it being downtown and on the waterfront. It was indeed close to the harbor, but the harbor in Portland is thoroughly commercial and not attractive, so that was disappointing. I guess we should have done better research before booking. If you want a... More

We stayed here for one night while we were in Portland to see The David Gray concert. All the other lesser priced hotels were all booked so we ended up here. Everything was first class from the room to the desk people were very polite and seemed happy to help. There is no on site parking but they validate your... More

Lobster, lobster everywhere. But before wandering around Portland we had to settle in our room in Residence Inn Portland Downtown/Waterfront. Very friendly people at the service desk. Clean room overlooking the Bay. Free Breakfast in the Lobby area. Asking the locals - "The last time you ate out in Portland, where did you eat and how was it". They'll tell... More
