The Chadwick is a clean, beautifully decorated bed and breakfast. The guests are very helpful and the breakfasts are good. There are snacks, teas, and homemade cookies available in the dining area. All rooms have private baths with two of the private baths being in the hallway. There is plenty of reading material and dvds. Conveniently, there is wireless so... more

The bed was as comfortable as you can imagine, and the home-cooked breakfasts were to die for - the Chadwick sets the standard for what B&Bs should be! This is a lovely inn, with all the amenities you could ask for, and the Abbott Room is spacious and beautifully furnished. We enjoyed friendly and helpful service from Buddy, ably assisted... more

My husband and I recently stayed at the Chadwick. It was a very comfortable and friendly B+B. I made my self comfortable reading by the fireplace and we enjoyed the tea service/snacks that are available all day. Very accommodating and cozy. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. Loved "Buddy's Special Blueberry Scones" and the baked apple french toast was a... more

I found The Chadwick on Trip Advisor while planning our first fall trip through New England. I can't imagine how our stay could have been better. When I booked the Chamberlain was the only available room; its bath is down the hall. Initially we thought that might have been inconvienent but we were pleasantly surprised it really wasn't. It's probably... more

This B & B in Portland is perfect. We stayed in the Baxter room (the cheapest room I think) and it was beautiful with its own little balcony overlooking the garden, cozy sitting area and separate bathroom which was very pretty. All incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean. The whole house is a decorator's dream. Buddy has fabulous taste and every... more

The Chadwick is truly an incredibly bed and breakfast. I read the reviews ahead of time and I had high expectations... and this inn surpassed everything I had anticipated. The room was gorgeous, clean, and comfortable and even came complete with chocolates, bath robes and a flat screen TV/DVD player. There were treats, coffee and tea out at all hours... more

If the Chadwick B & B rates as number 4 in Portland then all I can say is that the others must be incredible! My wife and I have stayed at B & Bs all over the world and would rate the Chadwick as either number 1 or possibly 2 on our own list. For a start, Buddy is the... more

My girlfirend and I were in the Longfellow room for two nights. From the moment we arrived, Buddy made us really feel at home. He is a wonderful host. The house is beatifully decorated and most of all very, very clean. The room was very comfortable. It even had an IPOD-dcoking station as well as a modern LCD TV with... more

Stayed here the final night of our vacation and wish we had allotted more time at the Chadwick. Stayed in the Chamberlain room with the bed made into 2 twins. The room was large and comfortable and the electric fireplace/heater added a coziness to the atmosphere. Both Kathy, who works there, and Buddy, the owner, could not have been nicer... more
