If you're looking for a five star resort, you're at the wrong place. This resort is a vintage, quaint property. Very clean rooms,tv's are small no frills but great continental breakfast in the lobby at the lodge featuring fresh waffles! Friendly staff and grounds security!. If you like a stress free weekend rocking on the front porch while watching a... More

We arrived and tried two different rooms and both were totally junk - old and smelly. They appeared to be circa 1920 without the charm. The cancellation policy is a joke! 30 days in advance, unless you want a voucher for another miserable night's stay. We left the place and went to the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn, ME. People... This resort is the only game in town near the Oxford Casino in Maine, thus it has a lot going for it regarding it's location - about 7 miles from the casino. I have to say the grounds are magnificent. We stayed in the Main House which has a fantastic front winding porch loaded with white rocking chairs, beautiful grounds,... More

I also agree the place is not creepy. We stayed in the Presidential Inn, in the George Washington room. It was called a delux room. Naturally it was old, but clean. A king bed, leather swivel chair, love seat hide-a-bed, and dresser. The bathroom was bare minimum. Only 2 tiny bars of soap. Also had a TV and small refrigerator.... More

We have been coming here for 12 years. But we are "newbees" considering there are those who have been coming here for 30 years. The package stay is very affordable. Unlike renting a room in a hotel where you are charged per night for 2 people. Poland Springs charges each person in the room the room rate so it seems... More

There were 16 of us in total, all family. Our ages ranged from 87 to 12. We rented the Beach House and the Campbell Cottage. Had a fabulous time. Arrived Friday, very helpful, pleasant staff welcomed us as we checked in. The dinner was good Friday night, Breakfast was good both days. We had a great day on Saturday playing... More

When we arrived for a weekend stay with a good price with 2 breakfast and 2 dinner meals. We learned "if it seems to good to be true...it probably is." Lesson learned. We arrived at 1pm and were told we couldn't have our room till 2pm. This is contrary to what we were told when we made the reservations. We... More

We went there to play the golf course and tour the facility. What we found (after playing & touring), was the rooms were adequate but some in need of renovation, the food looked appetizing, but the place is old, as it should be, it's probably one of the oldest resorts in the country. The golf course is relatively wide open,... More

No, it wasn't a Shining-esque experience, but it is an old resort in Maine that skews towards an older clientele. I was there to see and spend time with family, and it was a nice venue for that. I'd say that the biggest downside was the room. I stayed at the Maine Inn (which I would say is the hub,... More

Poland Springs Resort, once you arrive, does not pretend to be anything more than it is. Unfortunately, the "deluxe" accommodations as advertised was misleading. We turned down the first two rooms in the Presidential Inn as they were simply too dreary, too weary and too poorly appointed. The rooms that we finally had to settle on were only marginally better.... More
