We have stayed at this resort a couple of times and plan on going back. We were a little worried after reading some of the reviews but it ended up being a great deal and a nice place to spend some time. The buildings are historic, so they are old, but they are well-kept and clean. The food is good... More

We stayed in the Lodge for one night after a night at the Oxford casino. Any person who gives this place a 5 star review should have their Trip Advisor privileges revoked immediately. It is what it is- a dumpy motor inn that is fairly clean except for hair on the bathroom floor- yuck. Temper your expectations.

We had stayed here about 10 years ago and every year we would say we wanted to go back but our schedule never cooperated. We visited for the last weekend of the season and were rewarded with the most glorious views of fall foliage while we were there. This is definitely not a 5 star resort, but more like my... More

I have stayed twice at the Lodge at the Poland Spring Resort (and have reservations there for next week as well) and have thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I am a cleanliness freak and can tell you that I sleep soundly here knowing that everything is so clean and the bedding feels so fresh and comfortable. The complimentary continental breakfast is... This was like stepping back in time....rooms and the food were last updated in 1950, towels probably haven't been purchased since 1980, and bring your own toiletries. Walls are paper thin and most of those staying here seem to be partially deaf (and I love my 92 year old partially deaf dad, so I know what happens to tv volumes... More

Friends invited my wife and I to join them for a resort weekend with golf and sighseeing. We went to the front desk and were handed an old fashioned real, metal key with the room number on the attached tag. Maybe there's a low crime rate in the Maine countryside but let's face it criminals and burglars are everywhere. The... More

We just returned from our third stay this summer at The Resort and really enjoy the relaxed get-away it affords us. The staff of mostly young people are very polite, friendly and helpful. The buffet meals are very good and there is some sort of entertainment every night. We always stay in the Mountainview rooms in the Maine Inn which... More

We were here this weekend for a wedding. The view is beautiful, the grounds are lovely, and the wedding locations - (chapel & water museum) - were nice and worked well for the event. However, the rest of the experience was less than ideal. They claim to be "a country inn, nothing fancy; no bell hops, no clanking ice machine... More

If you are looking for a five star hotel, this place is not for you. We stayed in the Presidential Inn which was built in 1913 for the servants of the guest in the main lodge. We were informed that there is not elevator and our room was on the second floor. Oh well we can use the exercise. They... More

We stayed three nights for a family reunion and had a wonderful time. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful, the staff was pleasant and helpful and the food was very good. It had everything we needed. It was truly a refreshing and relaxing time and we can't wait to go back and make it an annual tradition.
