I have stayed at the Black Bear Inn multiple times and enjoyed thoroughly each time. The staff is incredibly helpful. On a recent trip I had forgotten my power cord for my phone at home and the person at the desk went through their "Lost & Found" collection until they found the right one. Rooms are comfortable and accommodating. There... More

On the whole, this was an excellent hotel. My favourite part was the stuffed bear that you could purchase (donation to CancerCare of Maine). We weren't disturbed by any noise from surrounding rooms, and there was plenty of parking. I loved the brand of shampoo/conditioner provided; it smelled lovely! The only detail that they missed, and this may just be... More

Visible from I-95 and easy to get to. Ask for a room on the opposite side of the highway, although there is so little traffic, it is barely noticeable. This little hotel is a charming change of pace from the usual corporate chains while offering all the perks. I counted 65 guest rooms and facilities for large group events. Coin... More

Decent room, adequate breakfast. Free wifi appreciated. This hotel seems to have trouble coping with both ends of the humidity spectrum: in our stay (February), the air was so dry that static electricity was a constant nuisance, yet it must be very humid in Summer as the melamine was lifting off the cabinet in the bath. Shower head didn't work... More

We have stayed at the Black Bear Inn several times and will do so again. This was a working vacation trip for my family and everyone at the hotel was super friendly and welcoming to not only to my husband and I, but to our two young daughters as well. It's located minutes away from UMaine & campus and right... More

We have stayed here twice now and have been very satisfied. We love the black bear decor. The rooms are clean and roomy. We had 2 queen beds, desk with chair, sitting chair with side table, micro wave, fridge and good size flat screen TV. There is also a good continental breakfast. A big bonus was that we showed them... More

This hotel is a fantastic stay of busy I-95. I stayed here for a college visit to U-Maine and wasn't disappointed. The bed were quite comfy, the amenities adequate and the breakfast warm. Two complaints though. The hotel did feel a bit tired and there was a couch on one of the floors that was totally broken. The second complaint... More

Nice place to stay in Orono, close to the University, easy access to the highway. Clean comfortable rooms. Stayed with my high school students for a competition at UMO, they gave us a great rate. Fun Black Bears designs everywhere

Clean, spacious rooms. We stayed one night as we were visiting UMaine. Did not spend much time at the hotel, just to sleep. Easy to find, easy check-in, good parking. Front desk receptionist was curtious and friendly.
