This was the third year that we held the Loosey Goosey Quilters Getaway Weekend at Alamoosook Lakeside Inn. We look forward to it each year. We love having the whole place to ourselves and totally take advantage of it. Gina and her staff are awesome and greet us with smiles when we walk through the door with what must look... More

Every winter since 2002, a group of handspinners from downeast Maine has gathered at Alamoosook Lakeside Inn for a long weekend of spinning together, basking in the wonderful atmosphere that Gina creates. We have been meeting at individual's homes weekly since 1975, but this is different. For all of us, it's a way of unplugging from the real world for... More

I wish I could have just stayed forever. The setting was a tranquil, beautiful, wonderful Maine lake that was perfect for kayaking, swimming, fishing, sunning, stargazing, wildlife watching, and rejuvenating. The inn has cute and very clean rooms, a delicious homemade breakfast, and a true Down East atmosphere that will leave you wanting more no matter how long your stay... More

First of all - Gina is wonderful. She is full of knowledge of the area and my baby ate her cooking - which is rave remarks in my world - he is SOO picky! The lodge is very dated and some parts have not been changed since the 1960's - but to me that was its charm. It was about... More

Mid-afternoon, we phoned the management and advised we would be arriving after 6pm. We arrived at 6:15. NO one to greet us. Key left at the front desk and note to say that there were canoes and kayaks out back. (it was DARK outside!) There was not even a bottle of water to quench our thirst after a hard day... More

Its a lodge. Simple. From a set time. Nice basic rooms. But don't be fooled. This place is truly magical. The landscape, the wildlife, everything is very, very beautiful. There is nothing more to say, if I added anything I wouldn't be doing it justice.

It's secluded and evenly placed between Bar Harbor and attractions to the east. The hostess was super. The lake is beautiful. We took a complimentary canoe out one night as the sun was setting. Pretty. The beds are hard and the AC can be noisy. Breakfast was good. A great value in the area.

We needed a place to stay for a night to break up our drove from northern Maine to Boston and are SO happy we chose to stay here. The lake is a beautiful backdrop for this well maintained property. We were enjoying the water within 1/2 hour of our arrival. Canoes and kayaks are very nice and the water was... More

Still a beautiful setting. Rooms are kept modern (all fixtures working well, a/c). Met some nice people there. Pleasant host. Breakfast too close to a continental serve-yourself arrangement; I'd have all items served at the table and serve real maple syrup (this is Maine, after all).

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the inn. Gina is a great hostess and is very welcoming. Food is delish and the view is spectacular. We canoed from the inn to Great Pond mountain to hike and then just floated on the lake. Very beautiful and relaxing. Great getaway and would definitely return.
