While the Old Orchard Beach Inn has its charms, it is seriously in need of an overhaul. The bathrooms are extremely outdated and the whole place is a little on the shabby side. I came here over a weekend in September for my birthday. It was absolutely charming, just a 5 minute walk from the pier and beach. About 30 minutes from Ogunquit (one of the cleanest beaches I've walked on. It had the most powdery sand), and 25 minutes from Portland.
