Our family has been staying at the Waves annually for over 10 years. We can't give enough praise for this resort. The staff are warm and friendly, the rooms are well kept and clean. The location can't be beat; it's right on the beach. There is covered parking and barbecues & laundry facilities on site.

The Waves is the typical hotel on Old Orchard (there are no chains on the strip); small firms or family operated facilities that were built years ago. The location of the Waves is awesome; on the beach and a short walk to the center (on the south side) but far enough away so the noise is dimmed. The rooms are... More

Tried to save money by getting a room on the first floor. Unfortunately, it was a dump... old and dingy and literally right in the parking "garage" area. Should be turned into storage or updated. The resort is in a great location and I think other rooms were fine, but don't fall for the lure of the cheapest rooms!

I needed a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance to the Amtrak station, and after checking a number of locations, was immediately impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. I asked for the least expensive room available, and was pleasantly surprised to find myself in a roomy, very clean, well appointed room complete with mini kitchen. Although the... More

I stumbled upon the Waves purely by looking around the Internet. The weather was suppose to be great and we wanted a beach location. We were not disappointed. The room was spotless, bed comfy and the sound of the surf calming. The staff was great. The value was the best surprise. I will definitely go back again. 😊

My husband and I just spent two nights at Waves in their Horizon building, with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The off season rate was reasonable, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the view was phenomenal. The balcony had a table and 2 chairs and was perfect for relaxing while enjoying the ocean view. It's a short walk... More

My husband and I spent a few days at Waves. We had one of their luxury king rooms with a balcony looking out on the ocean at a reasonable cost. Everything was very clean and we woke to the sun dazzling into our room! A definite repeat for next year. It is beautifully peaceful in September!

I’ve always loved it, we have been staying there at 74 West Surf for a few years now. This year was different. The cottage smelled like cat urine and the kitchen was poorly stocked with necessary pots/pans. Not even a basic sheet pan. I think it is ridiculous that a cottage that sleeps 9 is allowed one parking space…..why would... More

It is always sad when a guest, who doesn't get what they want, improperly uses this forum. Our oceanfront cottages, 74 and 76 West Surf, do NOT sleep nine people. Never have and we have never sold them as such. These quaint little cottages have 3 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms each have a double bed, and in the front... More

We stayed here for 4 days in August. We had a room with 2 double beds (room 105) and the set up with the second bed was a bit dissapointing. The bed faced the patoo doors so there was not a dresser at the end to have a T.V on because of the patio door. So the dresser was to... More

The location cannot be beat. They are located right on the beach and about a 10 min walk from the pier. The rooms are what you would expect. The pool is a plus with a hot tub right next to it. Great offseason rates.
