We have been going to Ogunquit for the last 10 years for our annual vacation. We've stayed in a number of remarkable places, but always wanted to stay at the Norseman because of its wonderful location. We finally decided to book our stay there during the end of the summer. Prices were extremely high for what the rooms had to... More

Thank you for staying at the Norseman Resort on Ogunquit Beach and sharing your opinion on tripadvisor. We appreciate positive feedback and the opportunity to extend corrective action while our guests are still in residence. I apologize that our mattresses were not to your liking. Our mattresses are high quality Serta and they are replaced on a regular basis. We... More

The Norseman is a very old motel on the Ogunquit beach. It IS the best location, but renovations are way overdue. They are doing a few rooms at present, but it really needs a complete make-over. It's pricey during the season, due to its location. There isn't even coffee available in the office. Nor a newspaper, just a bowl of... More

Thank you for staying with us during our opening week and sharing your thoughts on tripadvisor. Opening the Norseman for the season, especially during an exceptionally cold spring is always a challenge. Winters at the beach can be very cruel and it takes quite a bit of time and cooperative weather to recover from the harsh weather. We are happy... More

A most excellent location, right on the Ogunquit beach, there is no other property in town right on the beach like this. On our first night my wife wakes me up at 3am to watch the high tide practically coming up to the building. It was magical being right there on the beach. The resort personnel are wonderful, clean rooms,... More

Norseman is the only place to be if you want to watch the roll of the ocean waves, see the tides rise and fall, fall asleep to the roar of the surf on the beach. The watchword for this resort is location. The rooms are comfortable, the service is excellent.

Positive: it's on the beach. You can walk out of your room and be on the beach. We stayed in the Dunes, first floor. It was great to watch the river and see the dunes so nearby. Negative: seriously outdated. I think the bedspread might have been from the 1980s. They are full and charge a good sum for the... More

The Norseman is the best hotel in Ogunquit right on the beach. The rooms are big and very clean. The staff is outstanding. There is nothing better than waking up and watching the sun rise on the ocean. I love this place and look forward to our trip there.

We've been visiting Ogunquit for over 30 years, and this Labor Day visit was the first time we stayed at the Norseman. While the interior of the units were somewhat outdated, the rooms were very clean and smelled neither musty nor like cigarette smoke. This trip we had two teenage boys, and we would roust them in the morning to... More

UNLIKE Daniel & Wind dancers reviews, Larry and the staff AGAIN have made my families vacation a GREAT getaway .We always rent two rooms. No , the Norseman isn't the Waldorf-Astoria but it doesn't pretend to be. It's a GREAT run FAMILY resort with FRIENDLY desk staff, housekeeping and parking attendants. Splash & Huckelberrys again make the trip worthwhile, especially... More

Waterdancer54's review is spot on. My family has been coming to the Norseman for 10+ years and its greatest asset (possibly only asset?) is that its the only motel on Oqunquit beach. So you cannot beat its location, particularly helpful if you have kids and all the beach "stuff" that you take on vacation (meaning you do not have to... More

The Norseman Resort sits on the best property in Ogunquit. It is truly baffling why its Management is content to have it remain a lack-luster destination; surely with some creative investment, both the Norseman and its restaurant, Splash, could be the envy of its many competitors along the Marginal Way. Instead, the property is neglected, like some beachfront Cinderella, while... More

Dear Waterdancer54, Thank you for staying with us and sharing your opinion. I can assure you that we are not interested in operating a "lack-luster" destination and I am very sorry if you believe that the Norseman is neglected. Due to our location, the Norseman naturally takes a great deal of abuse each year from Mother Nature. Consequently, we spend... More
