The Norseman is not a "new" hotel...nothing glamorous or upscale, but really...do you go to the ocean for the hotel? The Norseman is the only hotel right on the beach...and if you have never seen it...it is literally right on the beach. You step out of your room onto gorgeous sand. The personnel are all really helpful and always courteous.... More

My husband and I have stayed at the Norseman Resort several times. The rooms are clean and the location can not be beat. We arrived early for our "one night stay", checked in at 10 am and headed to the beach. We got a call at 11 to let us know our room was unavailable aka double booked and we... More

Only hotel actually on the beach here. Nice but not glamorous. If you're looking strictly for location this is it. Could probably use an upgrade but is clean & comfortable. 1 warning -3 floors and no elevator. Staff will help with luggage. There is a good restaurant for breakfast at the hotel. Great blueberry pancakes!

Gorgeous views, steps to the ocean and a beautiful sand beach. Love that the Norseman is located towards the end of the beach for less traffic. The room was huge and comfortable- lots of room to move around. Even the bathroom was big, although our room only had a shower. Just minutes from downtown which offers tons of shopping and... More

The Norseman has a great location right on the beach in Ogunquit. Unfortunately, that is all it has going for it. It is a very old, wood-framed structure with badly outdated rooms, the bathrooms in particular. The mattresses are about the worst you could ever expect in a bottom end hotel, and the attitude at the front desk is less... More

This hotel is right on the beach and has parking for every room. The Beach is right out the front door and at high tide is only 10 steps away. During low tide the beach is a beautiful family friendly place to visit and play in the ocean. There are life guards on duty from 10 to 5pm. The hotel... More

You can't beat actually being on the beach. Experiencing the power of nature in the high and low tides with the delicious salt air is the best! Reception staff was helpful and friendly. Room was average yet clean. The air conditioning unit was very noisy and loud all through the night.

We have been there many times since the 70's. The problem is it still looks like it is from the 70's.The rooms need updating in terms of bedcoverings, lamps with no external plugs, very few outlets for plugging in. Bathroom shower is 2 ft x 2 ft . Towels in bathroom are thin . Soap is Ivory or Jergens. Outside... More

Fantastic location right on the beach. Nice room, large and clean. Very friendly staff. Wifi in the room, restaurant oceanfront, miles of sandy beach. Had an ocean front room, the views are spectacular. Short walk to town with lots of shops and restaurants. Lobster anyway you like it. Will go back again. Our new family vacation spot.

We've been coming to this hotel for several years strictly for the views and direct beach access. There are two ocean front buildings. One building has apparently been upgraded but not the other. Not sure if there are any plans for any future renovations. The rooms are very clean and bathroom is very small. The parking situation is HORRIBLE. There... More
