The Colonial offers beautiful rooms and a great porch where we can sit a read a bit after a long day at the beach. We stayed in the guest house, which was really nice. We also visiter a room in the main building, which looked very good. We'll probably try to rent such a room in the futur. Afternoon cookies... More

I think we had one of the best rooms in the hotel, rm 408. The view was spectacular and the room was modern and clean. Perfect location as well. Where the hotel falls short is with some of the amenities. The free breakfast was terrible! We've had better free breakfasts at much lesser quality hotels. All they offered was oatmeal,... More

My wife and I recently got married in Ogunquit and couldn't have been happier with choosing the Colonial Inn. We stayed in an Ocean-Front Deluxe room on the top floor and were beyond pleased with the cleanliness, size, and views! The staff was incredibly helpful from the moment we booked our room in June to the moment we checked out,... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Colonial Inn during the 4th of July weekend which aslo happened to be his birthday weekend. We stayed on the 4th floor in the Premium Ocean View Superior King which was in the corner of the building facing the ocean and it was beyond perfect! The bed was super comfortable and the room... This is our second time staying here in two years. Every time we found the staff to be outstanding. With the exception of a noisy refrigerator everything was great. Breakfast was as expected, everything was fresh and we'll stocked. The chocolate chip cookies were an added treat .

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend for 3 nights. As this was our first getaway in 3 years without our 4 kids, we really looked forward to sleeping in and sneaking in a nap here and there after being out all day exploring. The main building had been beautifully renovated although the floors are still very creaky.... More

My husband and I made last minute vacation plans for our annual visit to Ogunquit. We normally stay at another Inn very close to the Colonial Inn. I inquired about other nearby hotels, but most were full for our stay. I saw that the Colonial had an vacancy for our nights and so I booked the Superior King room. There... More

Within easy walk to beach, Perkins Cove and Marginal Way. The hotel was modern and charming at the same time. When was the last time you got a real key for your room? Comfortable , clean and fairly priced. For grandparents and young children , it was ideal. I plan to return again next year.

We stayed four nights at The Colonial Inn in room 401 in August 2014. Room 401 is located on the top floor, in a corner of the building (which is good), partly facing Shore Road and partly facing the church parking on the right side. It's a "Superior King" room. The welcome at the reception desk was OK but maybe... More

My wife and I recently made a last minute getaway and booked a room at the Colonial Inn. We had a great time. We loved the location of the Inn and the room was very nice. We got the upgraded king room in the Inn building. The room had been completely redone and beautiful with a very nice bathroom. I... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The last of the grand hotels of Ogunquit, the Colonial Inn has provided shelter and genuine Maine hospitality to travelers for over 125 years. Today, having undergone a major historical renovation and with new ownership and management, the Colonial Inn steps forward to reclaim its place among top hotels in the heart of Ogunquit. Accommodations at the Colonial Inn are comprised of 62 rooms spread throughout four different buildings, offering a variety of room configurations which can suit guests’ preferences or requirements, whether a single traveler, couple, family or group. The hotel’s Main Inn has been reconfigured and enhanced by taking the previous count of 44 rooms down to 28 rooms, several with water views. The end result is bigger guest rooms that afford a first-class experience with more of the comforts of home. Most rooms in the hotel – and every room in the Main Inn itself – boast a king bed and a coffee maker, all with new furnishings and décor. ... more   less
