We spent 2 night in Ogunquit. We chose this hotel with the reviews in the trip advisor. It was true ! This hotel is so sweet. Staff was frendly and the view of ocean at the 4th Floor was huge ! Thank you so much . The only "bad" thing is the late opening hours for the breakfast (8h00). Otherwise... More

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend. It was an average hotel with a great location. You are close to the main downtown area and then also the cove area. We were not in the main hotel but in the annex which again was average. Rooms were clean but nothing too exciting. The lobby however was very nice and newly... More

My husband and I had never been to Ogunquit, but we decided to go there to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. What an absolutely lovely place! The Colonial Inn was wonderful! It was beautifully renovated with plenty of areas to sit and talk, read or just enjoy having some quiet time. It was definitely one of the most comfortable beds... More

We stayed here at the end of October, to meet up with friends who were booked at another Oquinquit (sold out) hotel. We were SO glad we ended up at The Colonial!! The staff, ambiance and amenities were delightful and the renovations were done with a caring, discerning eye. The experience of staying here mirrors that of a small, chic... More

We stayed at The Colonial Inn for 1 night mid October 2013. It is a lovely hotel and has been renovated beautifully. The bed in our room was huge and was the most comfortable bed of our trip! Front desk staff were very helpful. We would certainly stay there again and would recommend it.

This review is basically a carbon copy of the immediately preceding review written by ThreeOnTheRoad. We had almost an identical experience. We stayed at the recently renovated Colonial Inn during their last week in operation before they closed for the winter season, but based on the service we received, particularly from Thomas at the front desk, we would never have... Ogunquit is a beatifull Little village with a marvelous Beach and board walk to a pittoresque Little harbor close by. The Colonial Inn is a nice plase to stay and I think in high seasons - very good with families - with possibilites for BBQ in front of your rooms etc. Situated very close to the Beach. Brekfeast was like... More

As frequent visitors to Ogunquit we try to stay in different places each time. Hearing about the renovations to The Colonial Inn, we decided to stay there. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we had a wonderful experience. Thomas at the front desk was extremely helpful and truly made us feel welcome. The lobby is warm... More

When we reviewed the Maine 2013 Travel brochure and saw the sketch of the remodeled Colonial Inn, we knew that was our destination. It did not disappoint. The welcome every time we walked in the door was warm and genuine, the room we had was spacious, and the common areas had a nice "life" to them. We hope to go... More

My wife and I recently stayed at The Colonail Inn in September 2013 for our honeymoon. This experience was amazing. After mentioning on the phone when I made the reservations, that it was our honeymoon, upon arrival, we had a chilled bottle of Champagne and glasses awaiting. After our first night staying in the room we choose, we had the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The last of the grand hotels of Ogunquit, the Colonial Inn has provided shelter and genuine Maine hospitality to travelers for over 125 years. Today, having undergone a major historical renovation and with new ownership and management, the Colonial Inn steps forward to reclaim its place among top hotels in the heart of Ogunquit. Accommodations at the Colonial Inn are comprised of 62 rooms spread throughout four different buildings, offering a variety of room configurations which can suit guests’ preferences or requirements, whether a single traveler, couple, family or group. The hotel’s Main Inn has been reconfigured and enhanced by taking the previous count of 44 rooms down to 28 rooms, several with water views. The end result is bigger guest rooms that afford a first-class experience with more of the comforts of home. Most rooms in the hotel – and every room in the Main Inn itself – boast a king bed and a coffee maker, all with new furnishings and décor. ... more   less
