We stayed at Seacastles primarily because it has an indoor pool. We were there during off season and I think we were the only ones in the building. There was no staff at the hotel and at first we couldn't figure out which building our room was in. We had to call the Norseman hotel for any info. When we finally found our room, it was FREEZING so we had to crank up the thermostat and leave for an hour. There was no overnight staff in the building, either, which was creepy. Each time we called the "help" line for information, no one answered. There were no directions in the room for anything, including check-out time. But...there was a sign that said if we left any dirty dishes we would be charged an extra $25. Oh yes, there was a dirty sock left on the bedroom carpet. Ugh!! Stairs were filthy and the walls were really banged up. Think management needs to do some painting, both inside and out. The bathroom was nice. Oh well, probably our fault for booking in the dead of winter. Definitely not a good value.

Great location across from Marginal Way and walking distance to everything. Clean renovated room with full kitchen and outdoor space, but quirky entrance near housekeeping. Bathroom towel rack fell off the wall, maintenance promptly fixed. Indoor pool, outdoor hot tub. Beware of ticks in the deck area.

Booking last minute, I was able to secure their basic room for a good price. Room was clean and spacious with a separate living area from the bedroom. There is a small fridge, cooktop stove, micro and coffee pot with place setting dishes for four. The furniture is dated but in good condition. The resort is in a great location, close to downtown Ogunquit and numerous restaurants within walking distance. It is directly across the street from the entrance to Marginal Way. It is a little bit of a hike to the beach but doable. There is some seating out on the lawn area. Parking on site. There were no views from the room. They were nice enough to let in early because the room was ready. It was a good, basic clean room. The higher ratings are probably for the higher price rooms with balconies and views.

We spent 3 nights in the king suite at Seacastles. We had a large window overlooking Shore Road with great views. We also had a private deck. It is very spacious with a living room area that includes a partial kitchen, big screen t.v., and all the comforts of home. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely go back.

Love Ogunquit, but don’t usually go in November. We have stayed at Seacastles a few years ago, and loved the location, We chose a room on the second floor facing Shore rd. The room was huge, with a good size separate bedroom. Living area had a full kitchen, sofa and very large TV. Our room faced the entrance to Marginal Way, and you could see the ocean. Being that it was November, it was chilly and rained one night, but being so close to everything, walking was bearable. Front desk staff was very nice, but after 8 pm if you had an issue, you’re given the number of one of the other resorts to call. We had no issues and thoroughly enjoyed our stay,, looking forward to returning in the spring.

It was our fourth time here. We always enjoy it. This time we stayed in one of the renovated rooms in the front. It was quiet and comfortable. The front desk folks are very friendly. You can walk to everything here. The pool is nice. I don't know why there are no bubbles in the hot tub?

I realize that COVID-19 has affected the service industry in unfortunate ways. And this resort is no exception. I have to give it some slack. But even some minimal service is expected, and they have so stripped themselves down, and covering three different resorts in town have just stretched them beyond their means. A really nice manager was there during the day, but after hours, getting good service was iffy. And choices the individual owners have made in terms of upgrading have really hindered the quality experience of a visiting exchanger such as me. The Seacastles Resort is the only one that is in downtown Ogunquit. It's right across the street from the entrance to the Marginal Way, As such, it's a GREAT location. But the grounds, aside from right in front of the main building, are shabby. The owners chose to the pool to be covered at one point, but the convertible roof is not used, so it's an indoor pool with so-so ventilation. The pool itself is clean, but it's not as refreshing as you'd want it to be in there if the weather is hot outside. We went during a heatwave in June, and the ocean water was too cold to go in safely without causing hypothermia (53 degrees!). The studio efficiency we stayed in faced a parking lot. Not all rooms have balconies, but our's did. Facing a parking lot. The room was newly renovated/updated, but it had faux light wood tiling and not very well lit. It had a dark sterility to it, if you can imagine that. The only window was the double-glass door out to the balcony. The door only had a solid, accordian-folding plastic curtain. Being on the first floor, there was no privacy with the curtain open. What they should have had are traditional horizontal blinds that you can pivot in a direction that allows light in, but still affords some privacy. The unit was also not well laid out. The sofa was right across from the stove and refrigerator, and directly in front of the dining room table.. The very small TV was on the opposite wall well to the right of the refrigerator. And when you're on the bed, the TV was well to the left. So you're either looking off to the right from the couch, or well to the left when on the bed. It just was not well thought out. We had some bad weather when we were there, so the lack of good use of the room space was magnified. I have been in similarly spaced typed efficiencies, though, that rendered a better sense of comfort. In the end, this place is about LOCATION!

This hotel is NOT priced on the high end of the scale. Rooms were adequate for a shot stay and the location, directly across the street from the ocean, was great. Room is equipped with small kitchenette which would be great for longer stays.
