I've been going to the Cliff House for nearly 30 years at this point. Saw the property go through many changes. Continued to love the location and views. It was clear the resort was outgrowing the original owning family but the prices stayed lower than the competition and the views were heavenly. Once the Katherine decided to sell, it was... More

Thank you for your comments. While under new management since its closure in late October, the entire resort is transforming in every way imaginable from brand new product to elevated service levels. Renovations are often refreshes while this transformation underway includes signature restaurants, lobster shack, coffee house, a new 9,000 sq. ft spa in Cliffscape, nature trails, summer to winter... The Cliff House is located out on a rugged stretch of Maine's rocky coastline so is not a direct drive from downtown Ogunquit. However, to our surprise we almost also needed our GPS to find our room. TCH's room numbers did not match the elevator floor level you would normally expect to find it on. I assume this is because... More

Thank you for the review. The resort is under a multi-million dollar transformation and will re-open July of 2016. A new coastal custom-designed style will enhance every new guestroom and suite along with outdoor landscape, hiking trails, recreation, activities, a new luxury spa and wellness center, signature restaurant and oceanfront lounge, lobster shack, coffee house, and more. And, as you... More

My wife and I were on a Fall Foliage Tour and this was one of the hotels we stayed at. Loved the location of the hotel. Walking outside around the cliffs was fun to see. Enjoyed watching the water come up again the rocks. You could watch it for hours. The room was very good and the service was too.

Easy check in. Very unique floor plan. Got lost trying to find room 661 The room numbers are not related to the floor (ie, 661 is not on the 6th floor). Thank goodness, the bar is easy to find! Our group had a fun lobster buffet/dinner in a “remote” dining room. We needed the walk and pathfinding experience to get there.... More

We loved our room, the quaint fireplace, and the comfy bed. The Spa, pools (indoor and outdoor) and the fabulous outdoor hot tub were amazing. Staff was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Restaurant needs updating of menu and decor, but as I understand it, the entire location is due for a major update over the winter. Can't wait... More

Our family spent time there and we had great weather...the outdoor facilities were fabulous! We had a phenomenal view of the ocean, the outdoor pool was well kept, we also enjoyed the outdoor dining as well as the fire pit area. The landscaping was well maintained and colorful. The location is central to Ogunquit center, the beach is our favorite... More

Area by spa and fitness center was pretty nice but the wing of the hotel where our room was was very dingy. Felt like a roadside motel, rather than an Oceanside resort. Furniture is very old and sparse. Pretty depressing. And, the worst part was the scene at the bar. Bartenders were cold, reflecting the bleak decor. And, no joke,... More

We saved the best for last on our New England foliage tour. The Cliff House, at the end of Bald Head Cliff Drive offers sweeping views of the rugged coast. Small balconies off the rooms provide great photo ops and the night sky is amazing from that vantage as well. We enjoyed a tasty lobster dinner in the dining room.... More

Peaceful, relaxing, and comfortable. The room we were in had a balcony where we could sit outside and watch the ocean. Make sure to ask for a room with a view of the ocean, with no obstacles. Our room did look out over a roof of one of the buildings, so the ocean view was partially obstructed. At night, we... More

Sprawling layout. Staff was great at check in and throughout the stay. Food and drinks were really good. Rooms were clean but dated. Ocean view is a must have. Heard the owners are updating the place this winter. Hope it still has the charm it did when we were there. We stayed in Cliffspa.
