My husband and I have been a fan of The Asticou Inn for many years. Therefore, when we became engaged, we knew immediately that the Asticou was where wanted to be married. We were married at the inn at an outdoor ceremony by the water, and held the reception in a tent on the back lawn of the inn. Despite... More

We booked our daughter's wedding at this beautiful classic coastal Maine Inn. The facility is elegant with perfect rooms for the wedding plus adjoining spaces all available to the wedding party if someone wants to have a quieter place to sit during the reception. The rooms need no additional decorating which makes our preparation much easier. The outside gardens are... More

If you need WiFi and flat screen TV to be happy, this is not the place. ( they don't have that) but a computer is available off the lobby. If you want low key, very nice food, fantastic views and a fairly Victorian style room than you'll like it. It's not fancy or stuffy. Eating smoked salmon for breakfast overlooking... More

The Asticou itself is a classic and is absolutely beautiful, the staff were warm and welcoming and especially helpful and accommodating. They are expert at providing information regarding finding the best activities in the surrounding area including what to do in lovely Acadia National Park. There is a lovely hiking trail and two spectacular gardens within walking distance. You can... More

This Inn could have been spectacular as it's in a beautiful location and the Inn has character.....but the negatives far outweigh the postitives. The maid service was horrible/ non-existent. We found trash (empty soda bottle, q-tip & a pill) under our "king sized" bed that was really 2 twin beds pushed together. We were upgraded to a suite w/ a... More

Apparently after Labor Day, this Inn is not able to provide even "minimal" level of service, as we returned to the room at 6:30p to find that the room had not been "made-up," and that no new towels had been provided. When inquiry was made at front desk, we were advised that only "minimal" service was provided during the first... More

The Asticou Inn is a splendid choice for those who wish a traditional Victorian vacation, perhaps the best of its kind in this dying breed of genteel accommodations. It is emphatically not a brand-new, glitzy contrivance with all mod cons and a surfeit of pointless amenities. Nor should its oceanfront location be construed as implying the hotel solicits those looking... More

Our stay at The Asticou Inn was absolutely perfect. It is a charming inn with great views of Northeast Harbor. The staff was quite helpful with excellent local knowledge. This will be somewhere we visit annually.

The Asticou Inn exceeded our expectations. Our suite was cozy, clean,& comfortable with a touch of a time gone by. The beds were comfortable, inviting. Can't say enough about the lovely views and restfull atmosphere. The Asticou is an old, beautifully restored inn which should be kept in mind if you are seeking sound proof rooms and many modern amenities.... More

I would without hesitation recommend the Asticou Inn to travelers who want to experience the charm of Mt. Desert Island and who also have high standards for cleanliness, outstanding service, and a comfortable night's sleep. The location is on the "quiet side of the Island," just on the edge of Acadia National Park and only minutes from anywhere on the... More
