We stayed here for two nights to attend a family event. What a beautiful location and excellently maintained rooms!! We had the Quoddy suite where the good-sized bathroom separates the seating area from the bedroom. The room, like the rest of the B&B, is very nicely decorated. Breakfast each morning was interesting and delicious. We chose to have ours on... More

Dear MikeLJ4887, I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the newly renovated West Quoddy Suite. The suite has always been a wonderful space, but with the updated decor and furnishings it is even better. Breakfast out on the deck is the way to go during the summer months and I'm glad that you were able to... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in August with our dog. We were so happy to find a pet-friendly inn! The room had its own private entrance so it was easy to take the dog out to "do her business." The room was very cute and in great shape -- a small living area (2 chairs, chest,... More

Dear cmf221, Thank you for your review. I'm happy to hear that you, and your dog, enjoyed your stay at Newcastle Inn while you were visiting the area. I'm glad that you enjoyed the remodeled/redecorated Bass Harbor Suite and am sorry that you were disappointed with the shower in the bathroom. There was a brief period when the WiFi wasn't... More

A lovely inn with comfortable rooms, very clean, attractive and well operated. We had delicious breakfasts (with a different main entree each morning), while sitting on the terrace with a view of the Damariscotta River. There are several pleasant sitting areas on the main floor. This is a good location for exploring the mid-coast area. It's a quick drive or... More

Dear der_Wanderer, Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding your recent stay at Newcastle Inn. As you discovered, breakfast served outside on the back deck overlooking the gardens and Damariscotta River is the perfect way to start the day. I'm so glad that the weather cooperated and you were able to experience that. This area of MidCoast Maine has so... More

Julie is a great host and made us feel really welcome. We had a great room overlooking the lake. The walk into town took no more than 15 minutes so great location. Breakfast a little limited but we are light eaters early morning so not an issue. Wifi in all areas so no problems keeping in touch.

This inn is in a lovely spot by the river. Julie is very welcoming, with Dolce of course. The common areas are very comfortable and our room on the third floor was extremely spacious, even had it's own sitting area. Breakfasts were very enjoyable. Good restaurants close by, King Eider was recommended and was excellent. All in all a great... More

Dear Sharon J, Thank you for your review of your recent stay at Newcastle Inn. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed your room on the third floor. The rooms up there are among my favorites because of the creative use of former attic space. Many guests, like yourselves, enjoy sitting on the deck, or in the backyard to enjoy... More

We have no family connections in the midcoast area, but were visiting for a wedding. We decided to stay at Newcastle Inn simply based on its closeness to the wedding venue. We were very surprised and happy to find the inn was incredibly welcoming, comfortable, and well-managed. Julie, the inn's owner, was consistently present (whether making and serving breakfast, gardening,... More

This was the perfect place to use as a base to explore mid-coast Maine. The accommodations were fantastic. Julie, the innkeeper could nota have been more pleasant and accommodating! Her breakfasts were delicious and sustainable into mid-day. The Monhegan Island room where we stayed was quiet and pleasant. Newly painted, it was clean (as was the entire place) and safe.

This is about as comfortable and relaxing as it gets. Just spent three nights at the Inn on business/pleasure and felt completely at home. We finished the jigsaw puzzle one night and there was another ready to go the next day. Lovely breakfasts prepared by Julie, the Innkeeper. Damariscotta restaurants all open, and very pleasant views. Rooms are quiet, commodious... More

We've traveled to the Newcastle/Damariscotta area twice now. The first trip we stayed at another B&B nearby, but wanted to give the Newcastle Inn a try this year. Overall it was a pleasant stay, but, I'd say we liked our stay last year slightly better than this trip. Julie was kind and courteous and our room was immaculate. We stayed... More

Dear lisab8s, Thank you for your review. The housekeepers work hard to keep things in tip top shape here at the inn. I will be sure to pass your comment along to them.
