Stayed at the Hotel Pemaquid in August 2014, in the carriage house for three nights. Room was huge and well ventilated, a plus because it has no air conditioning. There was a view of the water and at night could see the Pemaquid light in operation from the porch of the room. Also at night, the stars are out in... More

If you want to escape the modern hectic life of cell phones, computers and etc, this is the place for you! This old hotel was built in the late 1800's and has been a hotel ever since. It is filled with antiques with a huge front porch to sit and read and relax. The lighthouse and a little gift shop/cafe... More

We were with a group of ahem, aging Peace Corps volunteers for a reunion. Judy and Charlie could not have been better hosts. Our group enjoyed the historic atmosphere, the good beds, and especially the cozy "parlors" in which to sit and chat. Going above and beyond, the owners served wine and cheese our one evening there, and allowed us... More

We got the last room available - 'The Pilot House'. As the room rate says "it's not for everyone"...."the Pilot House is a rescued wheel house from the fishing boat the Wilard Daggett". Our first impression of this is that it was an old trailer on the back of the Hotel property....once inside it was neat and clean. All we... More

A Summer hotel which embraces unbridled craftmanship throughout.A Step Back inTime experience... Don't stay here if you expect a Howard Johnson experience. There is no room service. No workout room. If you want to truly experience Maine....stay here! You can hear the ocean....even smell the salty air! And,if you're lucky....hear the fog horn from nearby Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. This is the Maine... More

The location of this hotel was perfect. I made the trip with my grandson so we could see Puffins and do a day trip to Monhegan Island. Hardy Boats, which offers both, was under 10 minutes away by car. The Pemaquid Lighthouse – just a quick walk up the street – was also a big draw. We stayed in one... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Pemaquid the third week of June. We stayed in the Sunrise room in the Burnside building and enjoyed the large freshly decorated room that included a settee, chair and antique writing desk plus TV, refrigerator and WiFi. The room has lovely front windows that rise all the way to the vaulted ceiling.... More

This hotel is on the access road on a spit of land going out into the ocean on the rock bound coast of Maine. It is near one of the most picturesque lighthouses, at the head of some of the most impressive rock ledges you could find. The hotel itself is a main building with several rooms and suites and... This hotel is in a good location near the cliffs and lighthouse. It is an old building and does not have too many modern features, but if you are happy with a traditional old fashioned hotel (e.g. it has no bar, because the conservation trust land it sits on doesnt allow it) then I would recommend it. It is much... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Pemaquid offers a step into yesteryear with a relaxing atmosphere that is reminiscent of early twentieth century summering in the area complete with antiques and a restoration of many original hotel features. We are the closest hotel to the Pemaquid Lighthouse, our rooms are offered at reasonable rates, all rooms have flat screen televisions and refrigerators, and there is internet available but service on the point can be spotty. Many of our guests take walks along the rocky coast, eat lots of seafood, and spend time relaxing with a book on our porch. We hope you consider the Hotel Pemaquid when in midcoast Maine. ... more   less
