We've stayed at the Gosnold Inn several times over the years. In response to other reviewers: Yes, the place is rustic; yes, the breakfast lacks variety; but it's quiet and clean, and you can hear a cacophony of birds beginning at five in the morning, and the views are magnificent. You can watch -- and hear! -- the fishermen going... More

We booked a small cabin here just a few days before, so there wasn't much inventory left. Rachel helped us with our reservation over the phone and was very nice. We were coming to New Harbor for the Hardy Boat Puffin cruise and wanted a nearby place to stay. This is directly across the road from the Harbor so it... More

My husband and I have just returned from our 4th annual stay at the Gosnold Arms Inn on BEAUTIFUL New Harbor, Maine. This is honestly one of my favorite vacation destinations anywhere. We especially love the Gosnold because of its unique location on Rt. 32 looking out at Muscongus Bay, its islands, and the sea beyond. We always stay at... More

My husband and I recently spent a night at this inn. We chose it because it was right across the street from the Hardy Boat cruises dock. (We were booked on a Maine-Audubon sponsored puffin cruise that evening.) We arrived in mid-afternoon and were quickly checked in and then shown around the property before being taken to our room, room... More

Discerning for oneself is important. Before I booked this hotel, I had read a few of the negative reviews but I chose it anyway and was very rewarded. I booked one of the small cottages, Wharf Porch to be exact, as well as two rooms in the hotel. It was for a little family reunion with my 3 adult children.... More

Cottage was very musty smelling and old. You can hear everything that is going on in the next cottage. Breakfast is only served from 8-9am so don't plan on sleeping in at all! The bed was uncomfortable and the sheet didn't fit correctly. Even the common room seemed old and in need of updates. If possible, find somewhere else to... More

We have been staying at The Gosnold Arms for over 30 years, usually in late June. We love the harbor and enjoy hanging around and watching life go by in a real coastal working waterfront. While there have been many changes over the years it is still a quaint inn that is true to itself and the area. We've come... More

We keep coming back. We have seen a lot of changes over the years, all mandated by local laws and regulations in terms of the dining options. The Gosnold is managed by Chris and Lucy. Chris is a local and Lucy's family owns the place. The Gosnold has stayed true to itself. If you came to get pampered you are... More

My husband and I and our moms visited in October. The autumn leaves were just reaching peak color. We stayed in McFarland Cottage, which was just the perfect size for the four of us. We loved the wrap-around porch that hangs over the rocky beach. We spent a great deal of time on the porch soaking in the beautiful views... More

We stayed in the Pilot House and really liked it. we loved sitting on the porch, looking out over the water, in the evenings. the place was clean and neat, but not fancy. Breakfast also wasn't fancy but the blueberry pancakes were yummy. Location was great for taking the Hardy Ferry out to Monhegan Island and for eating at Shaw's.
