We love this area and were so pleased to find the Chandler House B & B. New Gloucester Village is the quintessential New England( Maine) village with so many beautifully-restored homes. Our room had wonderful feather bed topping and we slept soundly. The breakfasts were superb and we also ate just down the street at the New Gloucester Village Store. We... More

We booked this B & B as we wanted to visit the nearby Shaker Village. Our stay didn't start well. We had no sat-nav in our hire car, my phone's internet wasn't working and we were quite lost. I rang the B & B to get directions but I got an answering machine message. We finally navigated our way to... More

Originally, I had booked this inn, because it was close to where my son was getting married. As it turns out, I did not need this room and had other relatives take it instead. From the website, it looked to be an ideal place to stay, in a separate guest house. Although I did not stay there myself, I was... More

My brother and new sister in law choose to have their wedding at the Chandler House just last week (September 2013) and though the area and barn, and inn are all BEAUTIFUL! the owner was horrible! He was rude, dressed in a dirty, stained shirt, and told guests to park in the field in most terrible attitude. He was rude... More

We chose the Chandler House because it was near relatives we were visiting. It was a very good choice. The Inn is beautiful. The room (we stayed in room #2) was clean and neat with a large updated bathroom. The hosts, Al and Shannon, were like family. We'll be back.

We've been going to the Chandler House for several years now as part of an annual vacation to attend a reunion. Staying there for a week in the summer has become a much looked forward to part of our tradition. Truly a peaceful, lovely, restful, beautiful place, reflective of the owners personalities completely. Proximity to nearby hiking and activities, LLBean... More

I came to the area to attend parents' weekend at Bates College. Al and Shannon couldn't have been more welcoming and enjoyable to be around! The rooms are beautiful, the common areas comfortable, and the GROUNDS are huge and pastoral! Did I mention the amazing pet chickens? It's just a beautiful spot on a country road, but it's very accessible... More

We made a detour to New Gloucester to see the nearby Shaker village and we are so glad that we stayed at the Chandler House. We were made to feel welcome right away from Shannon. The house is turn of the century, large and comfortable. At breakfast we met Al who was as friendly and hospitable as Shannon. They made... More

We were in New Gloucester for a wedding and the Chandler House was the perfect place to stay for the weekend. Al and Shannon make delightful breakfasts each morning; don't plan on eating lunch, as you'll be full until the late afternoon! Our room, #5 on the top floor of the home, was like our own apartment with living area... More

We had a great experience here, when visiting for the Bates reunion. Our group included three families; some of us stayed in the cottage and others in the main house, and all were very comfortable. The hosts were very helpful in suggesting local sites for hiking, and prepared great breakfasts. Charming and relaxing setting.
