Over a dozen years visiting Monhegan Island, and we would not even consider staying anyplace other than the Island Inn! The long time staff is cheerful, friendly, knowledgable and super helpful! They remember you, your preferences and seem genuinely interested in how you're doing from year to year. We always book a second floor ocean view room, because, hello -... More

Beautiful trip to the Island on the Hardy Boat! The view of the Inn from the water and the dock is magnificent. We booked the corner room with the queen bed and balcony and it was perfection! It seemed like there were only three rooms in the Inn with balconies and I'm so glad we had one of them! The... More

This small island off the coast of Maine is a nice departure from the usual touristy locations and although it offers a quiet and relaxing venue, we thoroughly enjoyed daily hikes through the rather arduous forest trails and along the rocky cliffs where the views were spectacular. The Inn was nicely appointed, comfortable and accommodating. Staff were extremely cordial and... More

What a wonderful peaceful island of native plants, not found elsewhere, and a quiet life you could only wish for. Nothing but foot traffic on the artist filled island. Stop for lunch at the Island Inn for the their luscious clam chowder and green salad topped with lobster ... the perfect thing to do. Just sit on the white porch... More

Towering over the island is the Island Inn, a quaint New England inn. Over 100 years old, is still a very comfortable place to stay while visiting. We stayed in the adjacent Pierce Cottage. Keep in mind where you are, 12 miles off shore, things are much simpler. No tv or room phones, no street lighting or paved roads (didn't... More

First timers to the Island and staying at the Inn made it all the more special. Breakfast and dinner was incredible and everyone who worked there was very friendly. Rooms small, but very clean and charming. Will return.

The Island Inn is beautiful and comfortable, with incredible views. No TVs, no phones, a big porch, relaxing chairs. It's the perfect place to get away from it all! My sister and I stayed in a room with twin beds and a shared bath. The bathroom was large, modern, very clean, and right next to our room. My bags were... More

The Inn continues to offer the same degree of service and friendliness that we have experienced in prior visits. (We have our reservations in place for a return in 2016). The Island with its many miles of hiking trails, intriguing art galleries, historic sights, and its very own brewery makes it a memorable place to visit. This is walking island... More
