The owners are nice, attentive, and really trying hard to run their business. But they fundamentally don't understand how a B&B works. They use the B&B's living room and breakfast room as their own personal living space and the porch is a bit of a mess. There are two rocking chairs but also a lawnmower, their bikes and other miscellaneous... More

My wife and I extended our stay at the Ice Fish Inn due to an injury in the Appalachian Trail's 100-mile wilderness. (yes, the trail is difficult but I was extremely clumsy). We stayed in the Map Room and couldn't have been more pleased...the place was very clean, the Wi-Fi functioned great and the in-room fridge was kept stocked with... More

I'm not a frequent bed-and-breakfast stayer, so not real sure what normal is, but this seemed a bit abnormal. The room was fine. Free soda and water in the fridge, lots of cosmetic-type things available that I didn't use. The decorating was very strange - it was called the Medieval Room, but all it had medieval were a couple pictures... More

Our room was clean and the attached bathroom was newer and spacious, although I would have liked a counter to set toiletries on. The porch and other areas needs to be freed of the clutter. The fish tank would be a nice asset…..but it appears to be another unfinished project. The living room was clearly for the owners use and... More

I wish you'd mentioned these issues the night you were here, but we're still glad you brought them to our attention so that we can fix them, and I apologize for the discomfort. To address the points you brought up: We've added a substantial piece of horizontal space (a narrow table along the wall to the right of the sink)... More

It's my understanding the inn is under new ownership. I suggest they not open until they have put away the clutter on the porch and in the halls. Maybe then they could charge their rates for an inn room. The chalkboard sign at the front door said they were out running errands. It was dated six weeks ago. I light-heartedly... More

Ouch. Sadly, I have to admit that we deserved that, though. We apologize for the problems. To address the four points you brought up: The clutter in the public areas really was inexcusable in June, and I'm mortified about how blind we'd gotten to its presence before you posted your review a month later and realized how much of it... N45°39.446' W68°42.623' On the corner of Central Street and Highland Avenue in Millinocket, we were greeted by very friendly and helpful owners of this newly renovated B&B. Upstairs they offer nicely decorated and clean rooms with window air conditioner, fridge, TV and DVD-player. Wi-Fi is good. The bed in the Moose room slept excellent during our 2-night stay in August... More

The Ice Fish Inn is 17 miles from Baxter State Park. This location makes it a good place to stay to get to the Baxter Park south gate for the 6am opening. The inn keepers were very helpful with our 5am departure by having a breakfast bag with fruit, fresh muffins, cheese and juice waiting for us at the door... More

My boyfriend, my two dogs, and I stayed here for a birthday getaway in July. The owners were super nice and thoughtful - they left dog toys in the room for the pups, and birthday flowers for me. The room fridge was stocked with water and Moxie, sweet, sweet Moxie. They provided an amazing assortment of toiletries too. The dining... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here during a family reunion in August and had an enjoyable time. We stayed in the Chicken Room and LOVED the chickens! The room was clean and decorated nicely. The bathroom is a little small and there is no vanity. It is great for a night or two. My boyfriend also really liked the idea... More
