Last week we had our second stay at the 5 Lakes Lodge and we would recommend it without hesitation to those who want peace and quiet and/or a jumping off place to all the attractions of Baxter State Park and central Maine. Some background on us: We are a couple in our 40s who have traveled extensively throughout the world... More

My wife and I stayed the weekend at the Lodge, while I hiked Kathadin. Rick and Debbie would not have been better hosts. The rooms are spotless, well designed, quiet and the bed is to die for. Breakfast was filling and delicious. And best of all, both Rick and Debbie know the area and are experts about the mountain. If... More

What can I say: a fantastic location, excellent rooms and amazing hosts. What more could you want? Rick and Debbie have done a wonderful job building a great B&B on a site that used to house a lumber mill. It is a little peninsula that sticks out into the lake creating fantastic views of South Twin Lake and Mount Katahdin... More

If there is a more beautiful location in Maine, we have yet to discover it. The views from every room in this lodge are stunning. It was a wonderful expeience to wake up to loons calling on the lake, view the grand sight of Mt. Katahdin, and watch the clouds reflected in the pristine lake. Our first stay at the... More

We recently stayed in the lodge for our trip to Baxter state park and the area. Rick and Deb went out of their way to make us feel at home. We were very comfortable from the moment we stepped onto the property. The views are outstanding, the area is peaceful and quiet. Katahdin stands majestically behind the lake. The room... More

We stayed at 5 Lakes Lodge for three nights recently and I wish we could have stayed for longer. Delicious and filling breakfasts (and Debbie got up well before 6am the first day to feed us so we could make it to the Baxter south gate by 7:05am to claim our parking reservation!), awesome boat ride during which Rick fed... Debbie and Rick are great hosts. (We stayed in North Twin room)The sleeping rooms are spacious and the bed are VERY comfortable. The scenery from the room was beautiful...sunrise and sunset over the lake! The breakfast was delicious; Debbie out does herself each day. Fun boat ride in the evening and kayaks available all day. If you go, DO NOT... More

We just spent three wonderful nights at 5 Lakes Lodge, which is a comfortable drive north from Bangor. The lodge itself is just beautiful. Owners Rick and Deb designed and built it themselves. We were astonished at the beautiful location right on a large lake (South Twin Lake), with direct views from our room of the lake (the shore was... More

Our room was luxurious, complete with private bath with a bidet, shower, 2-person air-jet jacuzzi. Great views of Katahdin, great advice on restaurants, hikes, drives, photo ops for moose (saw four, photographed three who posed nicely), great breakfasts (elegant omelets, stuffed french toast) and plenty of friendly and relaxed conversation with our hosts, Rick and Debbie.

There is not much more we can add to the previous, positive reviews of this Lodge. It was our first time at a B&B and this was truly luxurious. Our reason for being at 5 Lakes Lodge was to put us in the area of the Millinocket, and Jo Mary Riders, snowmobile trail system, and the location of this Lodge... More
