We wanted something special for my wife's 73rd birthday, and we got it. All rooms overlook the lake, which during our three days was placid, white-capped, or storm-driven, depending on when you looked. At night all was silent except for the lake lapping at the shore and the cool breezes. It was so quiet that it was a good thing... more

Imagine yourself waking up in the comfort of a plush kingsize bed as you gaze across a lake at the view of Mt Katahdin. This peaceful and beautiful setting is 5 Lakes Lodge. We will never forget the hospitality of Rick and Debbie as they assisted us with dining and hiking options. Their thorough knowledge of the area is a... more

We chose 5 Lakes Lodge based on recent reviews we read in Trip Advisor and it met every expectation...and MORE! The setting couldn't be more quintessential "Maine woods" on the lake but with modern log cabin accommodations. This is no hunting camp!! The rooms were beautiful, (complete with Jacuzzi tub for an after-hike soak), but the lake-side views from the... more

My husband and I just returned from our 2nd stay at 5 Lakes Lodge. This trip was his surprise gift to me for my 50th birthday, and when he told me where we were going, I wept...with joy. We had the pleasure of being among Rick & Debbie's first guests after they opened the lodge in July 2004, and always... more

This place is beautiful. It was quiet, the place was immaculately clean. I am very picky and this place passed with flying colors. Debbie and Rick are great hosts. We were late getting in and they waited up for us. We felt bad about that !! Debbie is an amazing cook. Don't try to stay on your diets during breakfast.... more

Rick and Debbie are real people doing what they love. They designed, built, and operate a 1st rate B&B. The facility and location are outstanding. Rick and Debbie are wonderful hosts. They are very knowledgable about the history of the area, and the activities that are available (hiking, rafting, kayaking, birding, snow mobiling, etc. My wife and I have stayed at... more

Debbie and Rick LeVasseur have created the epitome of a wonderful inn in a gorgeous setting. Their attention to detail is impressive in the way they've combined the rustic/country elements of a beautiful all-wood interior with nautical rope trim with the luxury of incredibly comfortable furniture throughout, private double jacuzzi tubs complete with candles, plush towels, etc. Set on the... more

Rick and Debbie couldn't have been more gracious hosts serving delicious food and suggesting great hiking trip and adventures. This was our first stay in a Bed and Breakfast, and we couldn't have been more pleased. Exactly as advertised and more! more

Though we are not serious hikers at all, we were excited to visit the Baxter State Park/Mt. Katahdin area. Our choice of lodging could not have been better. The location is perfect and Rick and Debbie are wonderful hosts. They were most helpful in guiding us "in the right direction" for the best sights. We can't wait to go back! more

After deciding to visit Baxter State Park on our vacation, I checked tripadvisor for lodging suggestions and found 5 Lakes Lodge. What a pleasant surprise, right from the moment I spoke with Debbie about reserving a room. Once we arrived, I knew we had chosen correctly. The rooms were stunning and very clean. Rick and Debbie both were quick to... more
