Fantastic hospitality, Squeaky clean cabin with comfy beds, Great hiking trails, Free kayaks and canoes for Lake Millinocket - along with a really great restaurant located right on the property with food that is suited for the entire family!

The campground has a lot of well-spaced out camp sites and bathrooms (both pit and flush) within easy walking distance. We stayed in a canvas cabin and it was rustic, basically a tent that we didn't have to tear down before going rafting all day, so that was a plus for us. If you are looking for a luxury cabin,... Be aware there are two NEOC sites; we were unknowingly sold a package with a cabin at the Penobscot Outdoor Center but all the meals at Twin Pines. So we were expected to make an 18 mile round trip to get our breakfast! Twin Pines is really nice but the rafting centre is very basic. If you decide to go... More

I pitched a couple of tents with two friends of mine at the NEOC for five nights, and it was perfect for us. The tent sites all have a picnic table and a fire pit, plus enough room to park a car. The campground has hot showers and flushable toilets. The office is normally open til 10:00 at night, and... More

We stayed here last week with several visiting friends. The cottage was lovely. We were surprised that there were only three comfortable chairs in a facility that sleeps eight. The WiFi was spotty at best. That being said, everything else was very nice. A note to the management: a written and consistent refund policy in regard to activities or a... More

What an amazing spot. We were here for a weekend away, somewhat on a last minute whim. We spent two days xcounty skiing on their miles of xcounty skiing only trails. It was wonderfully quiet with views of snowy Katahdin we will never forget. Food at the restaurant was terrific, staff more than friendly and accommodating. We'll be going back!

...just returned home and had to write another review before I unpacked my clothes. I joined 13 other friends for what has become an annual trip to NEOC for winter snowmobiling. Our stay was excellent, fun and way too brief. Arrived Late Friday morning and checked in. They have hot coffee in the office and warm and friendly smiles. They... More

We had a wonderful stay here. Our cabin, Snowy Owl #8, was new, clean, and quiet - the kitchen came fully equipped with everything you need. It would have been nice to see more of the lake from the cabin - the view of the lake is blocked by the forest, but you could still see it a little bit... More

We traveled to Millinocket and Baxter State Park to see a moose, but were very disappointed that we missed seeing the beast! However, our trip was still a smashing success because we stayed at one of the Twin Pine cabins at NEOC, the New England Outdoor Center. The cabins are situated on the beautiful and scenic Lake Millinocket. You walk... More

What a wonderful experience we had at NEOC. We stayed in Sandy Stream cabin. I was expecting a rustic, run down cabin and was very pleasantly surprised. It was absolutely beautiful. Grounds were great, right on the lake with gorgeous views of Mount Katahdin. The restaurant was so delish. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I ordered a lobstah roll and onion... More
