We traveled to Millinocket and Baxter State Park to see a moose, but were very disappointed that we missed seeing the beast! However, our trip was still a smashing success because we stayed at one of the Twin Pine cabins at NEOC, the New England Outdoor Center. The cabins are situated on the beautiful and scenic Lake Millinocket. You walk... More

What a wonderful experience we had at NEOC. We stayed in Sandy Stream cabin. I was expecting a rustic, run down cabin and was very pleasantly surprised. It was absolutely beautiful. Grounds were great, right on the lake with gorgeous views of Mount Katahdin. The restaurant was so delish. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I ordered a lobstah roll and onion... More

I am torn actually in writing this review, because I am afraid more people will come here, find this gem, and book the cabins making it harder for me to come here anymore ;) But kidding aside, I can't recommend NEOC enough to vacation and relax in Maine. I have been here twice (booked a 3rd time already) and every... More

Our vacation took us to Millinocket for a few days and we had made early reservations at the NEOC for a weekend stay. Every person the staff was friendly and very helpful, you could not ask for better service and customer friendly folks. There is much to do with outdoor activities including boating on the lake and other directed tours.... More

The New England Outdoor Center is a fantastic place for an adventuresome vacation. Cabins both rustic and modern sit on the edge of Lake Millinocket, a large, beautiful lake. For dinner and box lunches, a sophisticated restaurant is located on site or you can cook in your cabin. Canoes and kayaks are available to take out any time and Baxter... More

In 2012, I brought a convention planning committee to view the Center. It was too small for our 400 delegates, but would work for our smaller committees and Council meetings. The result was that in 2013 and this year, we have brought a group of 30 for a weekend retreat. Location, location, location is great. We love looking across the... More

The people are super friendly and very helpful. The cabins are beautiful and extremely clean. Very comfortable to spend time and relax with friends by the fireplace. The food is excellent and they cater to food allergies. We will be going back next year!!

I have to say that this little resort has a lot going for it. The views are beyond comparison. I came for one night just to raft the Penobscot and I wish I had more time to explore the mountain. It was simply breathtaking and I hope to revisit in the future. The customer service at check in and through... More

I am reluctant to write this review because this place should be kept a secret! However, we were so pleased by the service and setting this place offered that I feel compelled to give credit to NEOC, the River Driver Restaurant and staff for the vision and outstanding job that they are doing in thoughtfully developing and managing this extraordinary... Our party of 8 spent a week in a coveside cabin, and we didn't want to leave. The cabin was cozy, comfortable and a short walk to the lake front. The children loved kayaking and canoeing around the lake; the life jackets, paddles and equipment was all well cared for and clean. The grassy areas overlooking the lake were inviting... More
