This place was so cozy and just like one would imagine a New England woods lodge to be like with friendly and helpful owners and staff and delightful rooms. Their grill and restaurant are both excellent serving many gourmet foods. The bed was comfy and the sitting area in the main downstairs had games , a tv, and a nice... More

Big Moose Inn is gorgeous and located in a beautiful setting. The breakfasts were wonderful, and the staff is very friendly & helpful. The Inn is located very near Baxter State Park which offers many hiking opportunities. Our room was very comfortable, but the bed was a double size and was advertised as a queen size. That is the only... More

It's one of the few places near Baxter State Park. Inn keepers were exceptionally kind and helpful. Lots of quaint and clean little rooms. Hospitable and caring - would definitely stay there again. Decent bar with creative bar food such a Thanksgiving sub sandwich and Maine craft beers. No need to drive for food or drink once you've arrived.

Beautiful oak antique furniture in all rooms, feel the spirit of the North Woods with the stone fireplace in the comfy leather lobby furniture. Very close to Baxter Park. Suites, shared bath, cottages, camping and lean to's. On Millinocket Lake, rafting trips on site. Levelly linens and super clean. Friendly staff. Return visitor. Breakfast cooked to order included. Wedding location.... More

My boyfriend and I rented a the "Rocky" cabin #5 on the water. It was perfect! LOVED IT! It was cozy and a perfect place to get away and rest up before we hiked Katahdin. We went to Frederik's for dinner and it was AMAZING!!! So delicious! Thank you for an amazing weekend!

Five of us stayed in a water front cabin. There was one bedroom with queen bed and a set of bunks. The living area had three bunks. Kitchen had all the basics and porch area was great for bug free seating. Definitely an upgrade from camping but hotel dwellers need to be ready for the outdoor walk to the toilet... More

We arrived on a very hot day...89-degrees. Suite 7 was large ,well appointed , and had air conditioning. Beds comfy, no complaints about room. The lake is pretty, relaxing g. The restaurant however was another story. We went early to the grill /bar. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a Cuban. Then we waited and waited and waited. Only... More

i just visited the Big Moose In this weekend with family and friends to go white water rafting, The cabin was clean and perfect for what we were looking for. The beds were very comfortable, especially in the living room/Kitchen. The food was excellent, the service not so much. We found ourselves(13 of us) waiting for long periods of time... More

My girlfriend and I were excited for our stay at the Inn after spending the day hiking and enjoying Northern Maine's gorgeous scenic landscape. The Inn appeared to be exactly what we wanted, however, it was anything but. First, the room. It was sold to us as a "suite" but that merely comprised of two separate double beds and a... More

The Big Moose Inn was the best place to stay after hiking Katahdin. We stayed in suite 6 and just loved it. The bed was comfortable, shower was nice with good water pressure, and it is the closest place to the entrance of Baxter Park. There is a restaurant within the inn that was a god send after hiking for... More
