Attended a wedding and the bride and groom reserved rooms at the Big Moose Inn and we had a wonderful stay. Not only due to Shana and Mike's attention to every detail and unique welcoming gift but due to the owner and all the wonderful people who we came in contact with throughout the 3 days. Lots to do or... More

My nephew and I camped here in a lean-to when summiting Mt. Katahdin. Honestly, it was the cleanest campground I've ever stayed at! The bathrooms were impeccable, which is kind of rare for a campground. The sites are on/around gorgeous Millinocket Lake, so we awoke to the sound of loons, which was wonderful. It's about a 30-minute drive to the... More

Loved this inn. It was clean and reasonably priced. The Breakfast was wonderful and the Inn keeper very friendly and warm. Booked a room with a shared bath and there were three bathrooms within a few steps from my room. It all felt like someone's home. The restaurant was wonderful and the server attentive. I was very comfortable there by... More

The location is fabulous - I have stayed in the Lodge and in Little Rocky, one of the lakefront cabins, once each in October of 2013 and 2014. Both times, the restaurant was closed for other events; the stale pastry and coffee breakfast was not good. The building has a wonderful collection of antiques, but it is so poorly lighted that... My husband and I stayed at their campground. Although we were tent camping, we reserved an rv campsite so we can have electric hookup. As tent sites do not have electric. (which they should really consider adding). I imagine most people can live without electric in the sense of cooking, when you have a fire to cook food. But, some... More

We had booked a campground for 3 days in late September. Though we stayed on a RV site even though we have a tent as we needed electricity and only the RV sites have electric or water. When we first got there we had to wait a few minutes for someone to get to the desk to check in. Strike... More

My husband and I stayed in one of their "suites" recently. Not sure how it was considered to be a suite...perhaps it was the chair. The room was tiny but very clean. There was no closet. The bathroom was ensuite. The bed was soft which is always a disappointment. We stayed three nights so it was hard for my back.... More

A friends weekend trip to hike Katahdin found us lodged in one of the cabins at Big Moose Inn. Three of us rented the Little Rocky which was situated about as close to Lake Millinocket as you can get. The views of the lake were fantastic, the cabin was nice, clean and comfortable and the staff was fantastic. The cabin... More

Do yourself a favor and stay at twin pines right down the road .its Newer cheaper much better views better cabins and they are nice people unlike big moose inn. We were overcharged and met by a very rude owner. Time for her to get out of the business. Paid for 2 rooms with 5 beds two of which were... More

We spent two nights at the Big Moose during our recent trip to Baxter State Park. The room was beautifully decorated with antiques, quiet and clean; and the staff were friendly and helpful. On our first morning we left quite early to hike at Baxter State Park but the coffee was fresh and hot and there was plenty of food... More
