We really liked location of the the inn and our accommodations, but it is the first inn that we stayed where breakfast was not included. We would have gladly paid extra, but there was nothing offered. We had to go to a Dunkin' Donuts down the road. There is a nice hiking/biking trail very close by.

We recently spent two nights at the Inn at Schoppee farm. The property is beautiful and within easy access to the nearby river trail. The rooms are nicely decorated. As is common in many period properties, we did find soundproofing a bit of a problem- we could easily hear the people in the other two rooms. We stayed in a... More

Thank you so much for your recent review on Trip Advisor. It is vital that we know how our guests experience was staying at the farm and take all reviews to heart. The inn is an 1820's farm house and while we have insulated in some rooms we have not been able to renovate them all at this point. Sound... More

One night at a local hotel then to the farm where we had booked on line. Julie check us in to our beautiful room overlooking the river. This place is not a cluttered old victorian but farm house with a simple elegant room. It was rainy the first day so we stayed in and read and napped. Property was quiet... More

This hotel is listed here under Bed and Breakfast, but that's not the situation. There are three rentable rooms here but no food is served. The owners are also owners (I think) of Helen's restaurant a short drive away, and guests at the inn get a discount there. We arrived and no one was there to greet us. My husband... More

Thank you so much for your recent review on Trip Advisor. It is vital to our business to hear of our guests visit. Trip Advisor categorizes B and B's and Inns together while our website is very clear we are an inn with no food and are sorry if this was confusing for you. Check in at the farm is... More

We had a delightful 1 night stay. Perfect weather, perfect location, and great hosts! We stayed in Dean's room overlooking the river. Very clean and very comfortable. Had a hearty dinner and breakfast at the famous Helen's restaurant next door (blueberry pie from Helen's is mandatory when we are in the area!) Had an invigorating 3 mile morning walk along... More

The Farm was great! My fiance and I stayed just one night, but the room was very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room had a great atmosphere and an even better view. The owners were very kind and welcoming. Checking in/out was very easy and they had great knowledge of the entire area offering some great suggestions.

Just returned from my second stay at TIASF - the first was in July - and I just hated to leave. On my first visit my sister-in-law and I shared the middle room, two rooms with a bath, and loved it - especially the salt-marshes view out the bathroom window! For my return birthday-celebration trip, I booked Drew's room, king... More

We stayed five nights in late September. Machias was a good base to tour the rest of the Down East region. David and Julie were excellent hosts and the room was kept fresh and clean. The trail and river just outside our windows were a great experience with lots of wildlife to enjoy. One caveat - the walls in the... More

My husband and I made our yearly pilgrimage to Maine for my birthday. This year we focused on the more rural part of Maine - Northern Maine with a two day trip to New Brunswick Canada to see the Hopewell Rocks in the Bay of Fundy. Our first two nights were in Machias and we stayed at the Inn at... More

I intended to sleep in Lubec and wake up early to watch the sunrise from the easternmost point of the US, yada yada yada, but it was totally serendipitous that there were no rooms to be had and I ended up in Machias instead. I scrapped my silly sunrise plans about an hour after I arrived--I was tired and I... More
