While the Bluebird Motel looks like it's a typical strip motel, it's clean, had fine queen beds, in room fridges, microwaves and WiFi that was a little slow at times but always worked. Staff was super helpful. More than met requirements on a family hiking vacation.

Let’s start with Machias. Whatever brings you out here – the annual Blueberry Festival, your vacation rental, the U. Maine campus, the scenic Route 1 coastal drive, puffins, kayaking, lobstah – you (along with the blueberry farms) REALLY are between a rocky ocean coast and the backwoods. And, generally speaking, there are no hotels in the backwoods, nor in Machias.... More

We stayed one night, August 4, 2014. If you are seeking the Hilton or Ritz in Machias you're looking in the wrong area. On the other hand, the Bluebird is a very convenient and comfortable place to stay. The place is a typical drive-up single story motel where you park your vehicle in front of your room. It is located... More

On a recent photography tour to Down East Maine, our group stayed at the Bluebird Motel. The rooms are small, but otherwise clean and well-appointed. Each room has free wi-fi, a microwave, and a mini refrigerator. Next door is a gas station and mini-mart that has very good food. The front desk staff is friendly and very accommodating. I inadvertently... More

My husband and I stayed here 27 years ago on our honeymoon. When we got the opportunity to visit family in Machias we decided to take our children and make great memories! Grateful we did! Very clean rooms, great service!

Small room, but has small flat screen (with Direct TV), mini fridge, microwave. Clean. Single story row motel. Tiny bath. Super people in office. Near lots of great coastal harbors, cutler being the best IMHO.

I have stayed here over 30 days this year (nonconsecutive) and it has been great - the owner and staff are always helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and the rates are very reasonable. I can stay anywhere but always make Bluebird Motel my first choice and you should too.

I stay at the Bluebird Motel weekly for work purposes. This place is great, the rooms are always cleaned, and the staff is always willing to help. Each room comes with a mini-fridge (with 2 bottles of water), microwave, and a coffee maker similar to a Keurig. Coffee pods are also in the room for your convenience. The beds are... More

I stay at the Bluebird on a weekly basis as I work a couple days in Machias. From the very beginning I have felt that my comfort has been important to them. They are always making upgrades based on customers suggestions. They also check in to see if the upgrades are good for the customers. The staff make me feel... More

I have been staying at this motel for several years whenever I travel to Machias. The people are great and the rooms are clean with microwave, fridge, coffee maker and free WiFi. Price varies with the seasons. They are located next to Tom's Gulf Gas Station & Restaurant - you can walk over for an excellent fresh made meal that... More
