Would you like a no nonsense, clean, reasonable place to spend a night or two while exploring Down East? For us motels are an unfortunate expense but an integral part of travel. We've stayed here several times, usually for a single night while exploring the most northerly coast of Maine. It is a little more than half way north on... More

Stayed here in October for two nights...this is quite the nice little motel. It is open all year long. Located right on Route One...close to local shops, restaurants (Helen's and thr Bluebird Ranch as well as a pretty good take out place across the street), close to the ocean (Rogues Bluff StatePark)...small harbors, unique beaches, gorgeous landscapes, and Campobello Island.... Have stayed here several times. As more people find the charm of Washington County (real Downeast, not Bar Harbor "Downeast"), the price has gone up a little. Still very affordable but if you charge more, you really should give more. That said, the rooms are old but scrubbed so clean and and are comfortable. Comfy beds. Also good little takeaway... More

We stayed for 2 nights here and the high-quality air conditioner was super quiet and highly appreciated on those hot nights. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was large with comfortable chairs and a large desk on which to work, wifi, coffee maker, microwave, etc. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. We even saw a doe with... More

Room is dated, you can tell they made some upgrades, had a comfy bed and new additions to the room I just thought was a bit pricey. Woke up during the night to use the bathroom and our toilet was leaking. Front desk was friendly!

When retracing the route of our honeymoon some 38 years later stayed here for three nights. I spoke to the new owner who has rehabbed the units sinced he took over a couple of years ago. He is dedicated to making this a good place to stay. The king bed room has a comfortable bed, dresser and micro/Fridge. The unit... More

Great location, close to town, West Quoddy Head lighthouse and Campobello Island Excellent, helpful staff. Room is clean, has microwave, coffee maker and a fridge. This is where we stated our trip to New Brunswick.

Clean, comfortable and affordable. This is not a new motel, so don't expect all the latest amenities, but if you are looking for a comfortable night's sleep, this place will work well. The motel has two rows of rooms. We stayed in the second "row" away from the road and it was very quiet. The price does not include breakfast,... More

It looked like we might need to extend our stay in the Machias area due to inclement weather in our destination city. I called numerous local hotels/motels, all with no vacancies for the evening—certainly understandable on a Saturday in the height of the summer season. Then I spoke with Karen at the Bluebird Motel, which had one available room due... More
