Our family reserved three rooms -- one for my husband and me, one for our daughters (12 and 14) & my brother-in-law who popped in one night... and one for my brother and his wife. They were clean and comfortable. The property, although on a main road, was up on the hill and quiet. We sat outside each night before... more

My husband and I stayed in the cottage for two nights. It was very comfortable. Cable TV, microwave, coffee maker, fridge and stove top. Pantry with utensils, dishes, etc. The bed was made up daily. Fresh towels. It was clean and quiet. The cottage has a porch with chairs and a small table. We brought the table from the porch... more

My husband, father and step-mother were vacationing in Maine on a budget. We found the Duck Trap online (we live in California) and decided to book it because of the price and lovely reviews we read. THANK YOU to those of you who had reviews posted...if it were not for your feedback we would have thought the price was too... more

My wife, teenaged son and I spent three nights at the Ducktrap Motel in July. We loved it. It's a mom-and-pop motel in the best sense: Great price; lovely grounds; friendly owners; and immaculate, comfy rooms (the beds were great)! We booked one of the larger rooms (it was #12) and it had two queen beds, a little porch, a... more

This was an affordable and very pleasant stay on our way up the Maine coast. The grounds are well maintained and after a day of hiking on Maiden Ridge it was relaxing to sit out and enjoy the greenery. The room was nicely decorated with homey touches (embroidered comforter). The bed was firm; bath was very clean - though not... more

My wife and I just got back from a wonderful trip to Maine, and one of the highlights of the trip was our stay at the Ducktrap Motel. The room was ultra clean on all counts, bathroom, carpet, furniture and bedding. The owners, Elaine and Rick, were the nicest people you want to meet. They are like having your own... more

My husband and I recently spent two weeks in Maine, and three of those nights were at the Duck Trap Motel. What a wonderful little place! We'd asked for one of the smaller rooms - all we needed - and it was just perfect. Everything was so clean and pretty, from the bedspreads to the shower curtain to the carpet.... more

The Ducktrap was a delightful base for our break in Maine, offering the perfect combination of simple but stylishly appointed accommodation (we stayed in the cottage), an excellent location, and charming hosts who were helpful and friendly but never intrusive. The setting is tranquil and the relative proximity of Camden and Lincolnvile made excursions to eat easy, but the star... more

Excellent – Nice room, comfortable bed, clean, great price and friendly owners. Ate breakfast at the Hideaway, just north on RT 1, large portions and very reasonable prices. Planning to return again next year. more
