My wife and I stayed here for two nights after Labor Day. Rates were sharply lower, and included a generous breakfast. Choices in Maine--apart from Portland--swing between the charm of B&B's, complete with low water pressure, creaky floors, and less than perfect soundproofing, to the occasional semi- modern hotel that dispenses entirely with charm and substitutes cable tv. The Inn... more

We chose this hotel to stay at for our 5th year wedding anniversary. We found the resort overall to be fantastic. The rooms left a bit to be desired. They were okay but could use some updating. The infinity pool and hot tub were amazing. The view from the pool is stellar. The exercise room was lackluster. If you are... more

We stumbled upon this place while driving around, after 2 nights at Samoset, and wish we had found this place first. We were sold from the verdant approach, and lovely scenery. It was a much more intimate setting, lovely views even if the ocean was mostly obscured by trees. Our room was spotless and had romantic king bed, hot tub,... more

My wife and I have stayed here for the past 5 years. We loved the place. We will probably return, but not with the same enthusiasm. Some of the esthetics have suffered. For instance, the drain in the bathroom sink was 2/3 rust. A little thing, but not something you would see in a luxury Inn. Floor of the shower... more

My wife and I stayed here in mid-October of 2008. We were in one of the two rooms above the pool-house and could not have had a more pleasant stay. Our rate included tow nights at in our room, two massages, dinner at their restaurant, and a boxed lunch. We loved the modern room, with water views, big whirlpool tub... more

My wife and I just returned from a very nice stay at the Inn at Ocean's Edge. We stayed in the pool-house and overall everything was great, but there were a few nit pickey things that bothered us. 1 - the pool was supposed to be set to 80 degrees - not a big deal, but it was a little... more

The Inn at Ocean's Edge has a nice location and has the potential to be a nice inn. The dining is quite good and evening meals are prepared by a chef with deserved accolades. However, the rooms are below average and strangely designed as noted by others. They are in desperate need of updating to a standard that somewhat matches... more

The Inn at Ocean's Edge was nice overall, with some surprising inconsistencies. The setting itself is lovely, with a lawn going down to the bay. The infinity pool is beautiful. We stayed in the Hillside building, on the first floor and a balcony - the ocean is only nominally visible from the first floor. The room itself was huge, but... more

My wife and I just returned from a five night stay at the beautiful Inn at Ocean's Edge and I wouldn't hestitate to recommend it to others. I admit, we probably couldn't have afforded our stay if not for their great early-season special, but that price combined with the amenities, location, and staff allow me to give this Inn the... more

We just got back from a beautiful honeymoon in coastal Maine. We stayed 6 nights in the poolhouse suite at the Inn at Ocean's Edge. It was wonderful! Very spacious suite, remakable views of Penobscot Bay from the balcony, the pool was beautiful and everyone was perfectly friendly and helpful. The Inn is close to several small towns that offer... more
