The Bay Leaf Cottages and Bistro are right off Rt 1. The owner was very nice and helpful. When we got to the cottage, it was much smaller than I expected. It was also extremely warm inside the little cottage. Thankfully there was an air conditioner. It was rated to sleep 4 people, but no one would be able to... More

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We always wonder whether or not to remove the sofa in that cottage and replace with a club chair - that may be better space utilization. We will, upon your suggestion, change the mattresses from those which came with the bunk beds to something more substantial. More

Have you ever think what paradise could look like? Well, my answer to this question should´t be far from this place. Thank you for creating such a nice and cozy place. I spent only one night but should have stayed longer. Peace, nice weather (june 21, 2014), nice breakfast, close to Camden (10 min by car). My kids (7&8 y.o.)... More

My wife and I took vacation here with our 6 month old. We were blown away. The value was incredible especially since we booked through Amazon Local. We took full advantage of the filling breakfast, the free ferry, and Jane at the front desk who was by far the greatest asset the place had to offer. Her kindness and knowledge... More

My husband and I along with another couple stayed at Bay Leaf a couple of weeks ago and had I written the review at the time, it might be more strongly-worded. We purchased a Living Social voucher for a two-night stay and we were really looking forward to our stay as we traveled up the Maine coast. The voucher included... More

We are a very dog-friendly lodging property but we have rules like all hotels. These rules are posted on our website and were also referred to in the Living Social promotion which you purchased (for sure it indicated to check our website for the pet rules). These rules include: 1. Walking the dog in a designated walking area along with... More

We were very pleased with our stay at Bay Leaf. We used a Livingsocial deal (lobster, wine tasting, bikes) and it was a good enough deal. We stayed in 11 (no TV but we knew ahead of time), which was a good size for the two of us. It is tucked away a bit, which gives it a bit more... More

We stayed in cottage #11 10/11-10/13 while attending a wedding up the road. Staff were efficient and friendly. The cottage was clean, simple and exactly what we needed. It was lovely to have no tv for 2 days! We came as a couple but are thinking of returning with our 3 yr old in June to catch a glimpse of... More

Disappointed at size and amenities of cottage that assigned. Room did not have tv and when asked owner at check-in about tv, she said would cost $50 more for cottage with tv but could transfer to motel without charge. So unhappy about cottage that left the area with our luggage in car and called desk about changing to another cottage..... More

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and just minutes from Camden. My husband and I were thankful for the very helpful owner who directed us to the right restaurant for dinner. We loved the doggie bag on arrival. Our two dogs loved the grounds and fenced in area. We would stay here again. Thank you so much! Steph... More

We were traveling down the coast of Maine and spotted the Bay Leaf cottages and bistro. We decided it looked like a nice place to stay the night. It was a great location. We went into Camden to shop and have dinner and were still close enough to get a good rate without paying Camden lodging prices. The room was... More

The cottages are clean and have almost anything you would need for your stay. They are nicely decorated also. Just a short 5 minute drive to downtown shopping and restaurants in Camden. The manager/owner was VERY unfriendly, and for that I make the rating average. The staff and their attitudes can make or break an experience and this one broke... More

I believe your experience was not common for guests on our property and I apologize if we did not "click" when you arrived but it's unfair to say that others on our property did not have a good experience. I believe had you made the reservations and set up the group, I may have had information needed to assist your... More
