My husband and I stayed at The Captain Fairfield Inn last summer, which was our first visit to the Kennebunkport area. We chose this particular spot because we had stayed at another Lark Hotel, The Attwater, which is is Newport, Rhode Island. We were impressed with the modern take on a Bed and Breakfast. We saw Lark owned The Captain... More

The inn is nicely situated in a quiet residential neighborhood full of other historic homes and inns. It is an easy walk to the port. We had the Vines suite which was very nice, but, like everywhere we have been on our New England trip, it has a really noisy A/C unit in the window. It's hard to believe in... More

A very nice inn with a professional staff that make you feel welcome and comfortable. After reviewing many of the TA comments, I thought the staff would have addressed breakfast. It needs fixing - simple is better - how about a bowl of whole fruit? A kiwi slice and a few melon balls in a jar is cute but another... More

This was my very first time staying at a B&B, so I did my research here on TripAdvisor and when I drilled down to my top 2 contenders, I checked out each properties website. I was attracted to the Captain Fairfield Inn, because of it's "modern" take on a B&B. The pros: comfy beds, great bath amenities, fast wi-fi, great... More

So pleased that our property, decor, amenities, and service met your expectations so highly! We love to welcome first time B&Bers and are very sorry to hear that you were not impressed with your breakfast choices. While we don't do a traditional B&B breakfast, we do offer 6 or 7 homemade "tapas like" breakfast items every morning and welcome our... More

As veterans of the inn experience, our recent stay at the Captain Fairfield was very disappointing. Their breakfast was merely a veiled effort to offer boutique style food in an inn style setting. Hot items were very small and placed on a warming tray. So they were lukewarm and did not taste freshly prepared. The muffins and scones were dry... More

We're very surprised to hear that you were displeased with your breakfast options at Captain Fairfield Inn during your recent stay. It sounds like the rest of your stay was great, but you may have been accustomed to our previous, more formal, style of breakfast. Thus far, we have had tremendous response to our new small plates breakfasts and guests... More

I chose this hotel as it offered something slightly different in Kennebunkport. It is historical yet modern and very functional. We had a comfortable room and made the most of the location - easy walking distance into the port. Great grounds for relaxing in the sun and really good tapas style breakfast. It is also small - many of the... More

Friendly staff! Beautiful grounds (the outside firepits and couches are incredible). Quick walk into town or just to the water. My fiance and I enjoyed the Rachel room but I am sure we would have enjoyed any room at this place. Gas fireplace. Comfortable bed (so comfortable I got the tag information so I can buy myself one). Even the... More

What a great hotel! The people were awesome, the room was cool and comfortable, the location was perfect, the breakfast was amazing, the free coffee and tea were delicious...I could go on and on. I honestly can't wait to go back. The innkeeper - Jessica, I believe - was incredibly bubbly and kind. The room had cool decor, lots of... More

Location is great and staff is very friendly, but overall is just okay; better to spend the extra money and stay across at Captain Lord. Main room is disappointing; not inviting at all. Rooms don't really hit the modern mark; oddly decorated and bed frame was bigger than mattress which made it difficult to get in and out of bed.... More

We're pleased you had a friendly staff experience at our Kennebunkport inn and we're sorry that our design just didn't seem to match your style. We strive to present a chic, modern take on a historic inn (while keeping the many of the charms of the historic property). We're also sorry to hear that you weren't a fan of the... More
