We stayed at the Yachtsman Lodge just this past weekend. It was not a bad stay but I believe there are a couple of items worth mentioning. First of all the rooms are very nice. Ours was clean and the beds were very comfortable but we did not have any washcloths the second night. In my opinion, this room is... more

Our b&b that we stayed at for 6 nights did not have a room for Friday night so we booked one night at the Yachtsman. For $380 including tax I expected better. Mold on the shower curtain, and the bathroom tub had hair in it. When I pulled down the comforter there were about 8 hairs in all different places.... more

Stayed at this hotel last minute and loved it. OK it is a cleverly poshed up motel like complex but the bed was great, the decor fantastic, the high ceilings comforting, the room clean and the glass doors opening out onto the river was unbeatable. I spent more time enjoying the sun out the back of the room lazily watching... more

Stayed here for one night whilst touring New England.Great location by the waterside with sliding door onto a patio and lawn.Room was clean ,large and comfortable.Very helpful and friendly reception.I asked about internet access to do an online airline check in and they then proceeded to do it for me without charge. However avoid the receptions recomendations for restaurants as the... more

I agree with most of the other reviews here. It is basically a motel which has been upgraded by an interior decorator. Room was nicely furnished. Bathroom was very small and bathtub showed some signs of mildew. Room was very quiet, despite the place being full. One nice feature was bring able to open the sliding glass door and stepping... more

We recently spent 2 nights at the Yachtsman Inn. We normally do not stay at motels, but Yankee Magazine had written up the property so highly we decided to try it. The room was gorgeous - the remodel was well done. The ceilings were high, the beadboad, mahogony trim and nautical prints gave it great atmosphere. The private patio overlooking... more

This hotel is an attempt ed renovation of what was obviously an old one-story external corridor hotel to make it into something special. They should have torn it down and started over. Marble counter tops and upgraded bed linens don't make a luxury hotel. The bathrooms are old and complete with mildew, the "through-the-wall" air conditioner was noisy and kept... more

My husband and I stayed at the Yachtsman for 3 nights at the end of July 2007 to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. I admit, I was a bit anxious to see the place since I couldn't find many pics online and all I could picture was a scary motor inn in the middle of nowhere (although I doubt Travel and... more

Rated #1 in Kennebunkport we were expecting a whole lot more. I booked a king suite on the Hotel's own web site only to be contacted some three hours later and told that the king suites were sold out. Since we were only staying one night, I agreed to take the downgrade to a standard King with a roll-away for... more

See nyctomia's review... we had almost the exact same experience! Don't ask the front desk for restaurant recommendations, either; they suggested Mabel's Lobster Claw over Allison's which ended up being our only un-spectacular meal the entire weekend. A minor blemish for a very nice, well-run, and centrally-located (walking distance to Dock Square) property. Be sure to hit the Spa at... more
