We stayed at the Colony for two nights after spending a few nights down the road at the Yachtsman. We were really surprised at how much we enjoyed it! Pros: Great breakfast, included with your stay. Awesome pool - with pool-side service (drinks, food, etc.). Amazing views of the ocean. Short walk to private beach. Fabulous porch to sit and... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel because our friends were getting married there. We stayed in the main building which as many have said did not have a tv (did not bother me as we were barely in the room) nor a/c (got a a little hot when I was blowdrying my hair, but with the windows open... Our family stayed at the Colony in July. Just perfect from beginning to end. The views of the ocean are stunning, and the old-world charm is just that - charming. The service is wonderful; the pool is spectacular. The rooms in the main house have no tv - but we did not miss it for a second. Cannot say enough... More

I stayed two nights, in the Galland building. My room did have a TV (which I didn't use) and A/C (which I did as it was pretty warm last week) - I know other reviews have mentioned that neither was available in their room. Bed was comfortable, room had plenty of space (even if I weren't alone). I did realize... More

We went on a family vacation. The hotel and property are beautiful, and the staff were all very nice, but the hotel does not have air conditioning! Since it was July, it was extremely hot. There are ceiling fans and a desktop fan in the rooms, but it was very hot our first night there, and the fans did nothing... More

Beautiful and well preserved Historic Hotel. Big and comfortable rooms. No tv. Dogs allowed. Great swimming pool and gardens. Elegibles activities provided. Also big and comfortable hall and meeting rooms. Good restaurant as well as interesting tavern close to the swimming pool. The hotel is located in the mouth of the Kennebunk river and from it one have a great... More

This is the second time I have taken my daughter and her children for several days, and both times it was excellent. It is one of the few lovely hotels where a dog is not just tolerated, but actually welcomed. I could take him everywhere on the premises except the pool and dining room. It was a great experience for... More

Read all the TA reviews before taking the leap at this grand dame hotel - the weight of the evidence suggested it could be a good experience. Arrived the first weekend in August. Here are the top 5 Pros and Cons you need to know: Pros: 1. Check in early - we called the night before we wanted to arrive,... More

We always have enjoyed our visits every year since 2001. Maybe its's just a sign of the times with rude people, but the noise in the East House has become a real problem. Further complicated by the evening desk manager-Caitlyn refused to do anything about it. The noise was a constant problem, and when we called to complain about all... More

Our family (18 of us) stayed at the Colony July 22-27,2015 to celebrate my wife's 80th birthday. We had a wonderful time there. The staff was very nice and always helpful. Our rooms, although not real large were very comfortable and nicely decorated. We had wonderful views of the ocean. The location of the hotel is very nice, being close... More
