The Inn is a lovely historic house, with nice grounds and a gift shop. It is conveniently located between Kennebunk and Kennebunkport. Both towns are just a couple of miles away and are interesting to browse around, with unique shops and excellent restaurants. The beds are comfy and each has a beautiful handmade quilt. The owners are friendly and prepare... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Waldo Emerson Inn. Host and hostess, John and Kathy, were very friendly and inviting. John provided us with a very informative and interesting tour of the historic home, in addition to answering questions and providing guidance in directing us to nearby restaurants and other attractions. Waldo, the four-legged ring leader,... More

My husband I just got back from a really nice anniversary weekend in Kennebunkport! We really enjoyed our stay at the Waldo Emerson Inn. This historic house is beautiful, and the rooms are very clean and cozy. We stayed upstairs in the Captains Quarters room… It's on the 3rd floor and you share a bathroom with the owners, but it... My husband and I loved this B&B - the nicest we have stayed in. Breakfast was excellent - comparable to a nice restaurant. Our lovely bedroom was roomy and immaculate and the bed very comfortable. What a lovely house - tastefully decorated - the ambiance quiet and restful. The innkeepers, Kathy and John were friendly and hospitable. We would gladly recommend... More

Breakfasts by John are superb. However keys are not provided to lock rooms. The inn is a lovely 18th century building. Homemade granola is great-- pricey to get the recipe however. Very quiet and rooms are well equipped.

This enchanting Inn is the perfect place to get away from today's stress-filled world. The owners Kathy and John are perfect hosts; they are friendly, professional and they put TLC in everything they do. They are very knowledgeable about sight seeing, restaurants and shopping. Never before have my fiance' and I set the alarm (while on vacation) so as not... More

This a time-warp. We were welcomed into a kitchen straight out of a 1940's film set (why wasn't James Stewart sitting there?), were given a short tour, and then to our room (The Yellow Room - it's more red than yellow but Kathy said they'd already gotten a Red Room so called it yellow...). The whole place is creaky, old,... More

We recently completed a Cape Cod tour and visit with friends in Maine so extended our New England visit with a return trip to the Kennebunk area. We were delighted with our choice of the Waldo Emerson Inn for its location, convenien, yet away from the crowds of Kennebunkport. The grounds and interior were beautiful. Innkeepers, John and Kathy, we're... More

We have stayed in several B&Bs, but this one is definitely near the top of my list. All of the guest rooms in the Waldo Emerson Inn have a victorian feel to them with antique furnishings, and some have large working fireplaces. We stayed in the Red Room, and I absolutely loved the flowered wallpaper. The room was exceptionally clean... More

Pros-On the main drag on way to town. Nice quilt store attached, managed by owner. Con's- Old, tired, and worn. House was converted into B&B with absolutely no eye for the detail. Cheap materials, poorly fitted, poorly crafted. Wall paper 75 years old. Last dusted in 1965. Fibber McGee and Molly may have been filmed there in 1940. No one... More
