We spent a Saturday night at the Waldo Emerson Inn B&B. We called last minute at 9pm and the owners were very accommodating. We had the room downstairs next to the dining room. It was clean & tastefully decorated. We were greeted by Waldo the Inns toy poodle ( I love to see pets at a B&B because I am... More

From the moment my husband and I walked through the doors of the Waldo Emerson Inn and were greeted by our wonderful hosts, Cathy and John, we felt at home. The inn is beautiful, historic, authentic and cozy! The breakfasts were yummy and you could tell were made with such care and pride. We had a wonderful experience and are... More

We recently started our holiday with a 2 night stay at the Waldo Emerson Inn. It was within easy driving distance of Boston Logan International Airport and seemed to be the ideal location. On arrival we were greeted by Kathy who not only showed us around the Inn, filled us in on the history of the property including its use... More

This B&B provided the basics. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. There is only one breakfast made every day with no choice. Picky eaters may want to choose another place to stay. The food was well prepared and all that we needed to start our day. We were only there one night. All rooms are upstairs and... More

Perfect place to stay in historic old home near Kennebunkport. Innkeepers are ready to serve and make your stay pleasant in every way. Breakfasts are delicious, strictly home-made, and elegantly plated. There is absolutely nothing not to like about this lovely inn.

If you like old - you got it. If you want a warm welcome, pleasant greeting or afternoon tea - forget it. On arrival we got a long tale about the house and it's history. Not what we needed after a long journey. Afternoon tea to us meant - tea and cake or biscuits waiting for us. But no, we... More

Thank you for your review we do appreciate it. We are sorry that we missed our goal of making your stay a wonderful experience. Since we are indeed a very historic Inn the guests in general do ask for an overview of the rich history. We typically ask the arriving guests if they would like to hear about the history... More

We were made to feel most welcome by John (and Waldo the poodle!) who cooked wonderful breakfasts and went out of his way to help us enjoy our holiday by recommending suitable places to visit and eat. The inn is very comfortably furnished and convenient for a beautiful unspoiled beach and Kennebunkport. There is good equipment available for enjoying the... More

We stayed three nights on a recent weekend. The location is about halfway between Kennebunk and Kennebunkport so it is not near the beach. The welcome is warm and the building is interesting and historic. Pros are an included beach parking pass (important when it's busy season), surprisingly good bicycles of varying sizes and beach chairs and umbrellas for the... More

We stayed at the Waldo Emerson B&B for two nights. It is located in Kennebunk, ME next to the wedding cake house. Our room (the blue room) was large and tastefully decorated including a fireplace and a comfortable chaise lounge. The room was spotless. The Inn itself was very old and had the original floors, etc. The owners, Cathy and... More

This inn is such a gem. It's a historic house--original floorboards and windows--which was a treat to experience. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, and we were happy to stay in a quiet area of Kennebunk. But the real stars of the place are John and Kathy--we felt like we were staying with family. They were helpful... More
