The staff were very friendly and available to help when needed. The accommodations were knotty pine and very clean There were three bedrooms and two bathrooms. A nice deck outside. Indoor swimming pool and exercise room. They had a wine & cheese for people to meet each other. One activity they had was a painting class that was excellent

Traveled with 4 family members to this resort end of August 2015. Yes to AC though barely needed. We really enjoyed this resort, it was remote, and it was beautiful, slightly old, but clean and spacious. Outstanding, friendly staff!! Indoor pool, and rec room was nice. Grounds were beautiful, outside decking, barbecues, chairs, and tables were appreciated. It is quite... More

A nice place, staff is friendly and the rooms were very clean and spacious. No A/C but wasn't needed, was actually chilly while we were there. Place is a little dated and walls between units are thin, but seems like a very nice family kind of place. We were happy with our stay.

Quiet and secluded place with a beautiful lake nearby where we could swim. The resort is actually located on a golf course with an amazing landscape and a mountain view with sunset from a terrace. The 2- story unit is made entirely from wood inside and out, very clean, comfortable and inviting. If you want a relaxing vacation, this is... More

Booked this place for a week in May through our timeshare. Was a very peaceful and quiet area. The unit had a lot of sleeping space.. 2 rooms plus a loft. Given the amount of room to sleep, I think it needs more seating space in the "family" area. There was a one recliner, one rocking chair and one regular... More

I stayed here for a week. The unit was very nice with 2 full bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, and an additional bed in the loft area. It was knotty pine interior, and equipped with all of the comforts of home, including a dishwasher, refrigerator, dining table set, and all of the necessary cooking utensils. There was a TV in the master... More

Stayed here with my husband and kids thanks to an "extra" getaway our timeshare fave us. The lodging was adequate but the walls are thin and we could hear the neighbors in the next unit coughing and their tv at times. We didn't sleep well either night as the bed was very soft and springy. The view of Mt. Kathadin... More

We were looking for a place to stay while exploring Baxter State Park. We alternated staying in camp in the park with the luxury of a hot shower and electricity at Vacationland. Luxury is relative and this fit the bill. We did not use any of the amenities other than the self service laundry. Units were clean and rustic.

Vacationland Estates on Dow Farm Rd in Island Falls, Maine, is a great spot for the right person. It is close to the ATV and snowmobile trails. There is golf next door and a lake at the bottom of the hill. I like the location and all it has to offer, but the facility needs some updating. The staff was... More

Rustic or rundown? Out-doorsy or out-dated? Remote or isolated? Island Park is in the middle of nowhere; distant from restaurants and shopping but right in the middle of miles of muddy ATV and snowmobile paths. This is probably a great place for families who will spend most of their days outdoors - just be sure to bring lots of quarters... More
