My wife and I went to the bar for drinks and some eats after a concert. The bar was understaffed and slow. My wife ordered a dry martini and got one soaked in vermouth. My old fashioned was watery, soaked with too much ice. I ordered a hamburger and got a mediocre sandwich with a thin patty that had clearly been frozen not long before. The french fries were also thin and barely cooked. They were out of all sea food on the menu and the beer I asked for was tapped out too. Perhaps they are still finding their legs but this place is not worth the price.

My husband found this lovely place to celebrate our anniversary. I could not have been happier with his choice. The room was neat, clean and cozy. But what made this a truly exceptional experience was the staff and dining. The staff were all friendly, accommodating and went above and beyond to anticipate our needs/wants, The food was phenomenal! We made reservations for both nights and were not disappointed. The presentation was beautiful and the food cooked to perfection. My husbands steak done exactly as he likes and my seafood pasta was phenomenal, Scallops, shrimp and lobster all tender and the lobster cream sauce just the right amount of richness. Both the cocktails and wine pours were generous. Although they were in the midst of adding on to increase the capacity for dining, it in no way interfered with the quality of our experience. The grounds were immaculate, and had a beautifully decorated patio with comfortable seating. The management and staff, food and accommodations all together made this a trip to remember, and to repeat.

We booked a room here for our anniversary. Like other guests, we weren’t told of the extensive construction work underway. We went on a Friday so weren’t plagued with construction noise in the morning. Our check-in was fine and our room was better than I expected, although very dated and small. We had a queen bed that barely fit in the room. Our bathroom was tiny with a standup shower and little space to put toiletries. But, it’s an old inn so I was not surprised. We did have air conditioning so that was a plus. That’s it for negatives. We went out and sat on the new patio amongst beautifully landscaped beds. Seating was comfortable and plentiful. We had several drinks with Kori(?) taking care of us. She was gracious, helpful and accommodating. We chose to have a delicious dinner at the inn which was outstanding. Our breakfast was included and was excellent. I had eggs, toast and bacon and my husband had a sausage scramble. Each plate also had some fresh fruit and we enjoyed coffee and juice. I’m excited to see all the changes being made and look forward to staying again when the renovations are done.

I booked a reservation at the Crocker House Country Inn several months ago for a family vacation in Maine. The Crocker House came recommended and the photos looked idyllic! Right before my visit, I sent Joshua an email confirming our stay and he confirmed all was set!! We got our first surprise/shock when we drove in - the entire facade looked like a construction zone. Then, we walked in very skeptical (see photos) as we did not know where we were really going and what we would be confronted with. Once in, there was no one at the front desk to check us in for a while. We waited a few minutes and said "Hello" a few times before Josh showed up and gave us the room keys. Once we were in the room, we realized that our room had no AC, hairdryer, or a closet. The top drawer had some hangers, but we weren't sure what we were supposed to do with it since there was no place to hang our clothes. It seemed like our room was hastily completed for our stay since it appeared to be partially under construction with the wood and flooring exposed. Also, I noticed there was a hole in the bathroom outlet with wires hanging out. Further, across from our room and all around, all the rooms were under construction; the room across from us had caution tape on the doorway! We were visibly upset with this condition especially since Josh never once mentioned in his confirmation email that this place was under construction. Had he been honest with us, we would have made alternate arrangements. Obviously, we did not want to stay but were informed by Josh that they have a 48-hour cancellation policy! I wish to reiterate that we did not cancel but were unwilling to pay $200 per night for a place that was clearly not ready to host guests whilst in the middle of construction. Then Josh tells me that “this place isn’t for everybody”. How can a place under construction be OK for some folks? And that there are people willing to pay $200 per night inside a construction zone? Isn’t that a hazard anyway? Well, we were lucky to get a room last minute for 4 nights at a nearby inn which was very expensive! Overall, this was not all an experience we were expecting which was shocking to say the least, and a little upfront honesty and some consideration for our situation would have been appreciated.

Nice people, good restaurant but the rooms are dated with bad beds, crummy pillows and dirty rooms. We had cobwebs in every corner of the ceilings in our room. Our friends room was equally sub par. It appears that the restaurant is the profit producer that the locals love. We would eat there again if we came back to the area but not stay.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights during our anniversary getaway to Maine. Our room was clean but dated. Attached bathroom was very small. Mattress was VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and hard. My husband has back issues. So, the bed situation was particularly disheartening. Neither of us slept well. We honestly considered leaving after the first night. My husband asked about switching rooms, but we weren’t able to do so. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good but ordinary. There wasn’t much to do directly at the Inn. No TV in the room.

We stayed at Crocker inn for a week. Great location for cycling and hiking around Hancock point, Winter Harbor, Schoodic Peninsula, and Mount Desert Island Arcadia. Such a beautiful part of the country. If cycling, bring wider tire bikes for gravel paths at Arcadia and Down East Sunrise trail. Opportunities to kayak as well, however we did not kayak. Rich and his staff are incredibly warm, kind, and hospitable people. Crocker Inn is away from the large crowds in Bar Harbor. We felt very much at home there. The breakfasts, which are included, are fabulous big breakfasts. Dinners, offered at an additional charge, are also some of the best meals we've had while in Maine.

We stayed at Crocker House for 2 nights. The rooms are OK, but need updating. Seems they may not have been redone since the 90's judging by the décor and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Our room had an ensuite bathroom, not all do, but had only a very small standup shower, with limited space for personal items in the bathroom. Rooms are clean, but in need of a deep clean. There are no TVs which was fine for us, but some may be surprised by this. There is no clock anywhere in the room and no full length mirror if one were getting ready for an event. Hair dryer is in a basket in the hallway, which seemed odd, but there was one available for use. The rooms are clean, the staff is very pleasant, and dinner was excellent. I would rate the restaurant 5 stars, the rooms a 3, so overall a 4. Important to note that if you have mobility issues, make sure to mention this as this is a classic old inn with no elevator. Masks were worn by staff, and guests in common areas and as they were seated, and hand sanitizer was plentiful. Masks available if guests came without. Diners were spread out at both breakfast and lunch. We will absolutely return for dinner- very nice menu, and food was excellent. Good service and a pleasant atmosphere with very lovely grounds with outdoor seats where you could enjoy a drink before or after dinner, or just to sit and relax.

The food was sheer perfection, I have NEVER had a better “house salad” anywhere. Very simply made but a sublime taste. Every bite of our dinner was delicious, and the service? One word, “Tim”. I cannot write enough good things about this man! I can no longer speak due to throat cancer, so the best I could do is a little note of thanks on our table, and hopefully he sees or hears of this review. This was only our second time here for dinner, but we’ve decided to make it several dinners each summer we’re up here, which will be every summer from now on since we bought a place for ourselves on the ocean. Treat yourself and go enjoy the food and the absolutely wonderful Tim.

Our "party of 5" loved this dining experience. Starting with the warm bread, interesting cocktails and ample dinner portions we all gave it thumbs up and spoke of it several times afterwards on how much we enjoyed our evening. We all had "leftovers" for the next day. Meat, Fish and Vegetables were cooked perfectly. Potato Dauphinois were delicious, so much so we asked for the recipe...and they provided it. Amazing. Everything about this meal was perfection. Finished off with a chocolate mousse type dessert which was lovely. Great atmosphere.
