We were recently in the area to visit our daughter at college and feel so fortunate to have found this place! Tom is SO friendly and outgoing, making everyone feel as though they are the only guests. He is a native Mainer who knows the area well. The house is just beautiful and no detail is left undone. Chocolates at... More

My friend and I recently shared the Acadia Room on a tour of New England. To say that we were stunned and delighted is inadequate. This little treasure of a B&B rivals even the most top class hotels for its comfort, elegance, tranquility and cleanliness. The innkeeper, Tom, was truly fantastic, giving us a warm and personal welcome, making sure... More

This is our second stay at the Benjamin Wales Inn. We go to the Maine Quilt Show in Augusta and look forward to our stay at Benjamin Wales as much as we do seeing the show. The gardens are magnificient! Breakfast can't be beat--the fruit and muffin is plenty! There are many "little things" about the inn that make our... More

Actually, we are price shoppers, so we were prepared for just about anything. Instead, we were pleasantly surprised by Tom, our witty and gracious host, the best B & B breakfast we've ever had (Tom, I crave your blueberry muffin recipe), and singular accommodations. The house is charming, tastefully decorated and precisely appointed. We love the curved walls, built to... More

As far as B&B Inns go, The Benjamin Wales House is absolutely at the top of my "wonderful" list. I have traveled extensively, and this lovely home compares with some of the finest places I've ever been. The breakfasts were superb, delicious and complete meals with a variety of great choices and masses of fresh fruit. As well, the bedroom... More

I am not a regular B & B traveler, but a friend suggested The Benjamin Wales House in Hallowell and I'm grateful he did. The rooms are huge. Each one has a private bathroom. The owner, Tom, is extremely attentive to his guests and their needs. Each night before bed, he asks what they would like for breakfast and when... More

This was the perfect place to stay to get away for a few days and see a new place. The owner is taking courses to become a Master Gardener and has done an amazing job at the inn. There is a water lily pod with a little waterfall, which is the most calming sound to begin the day with. There... More

I stayed at the Benjamin Wales for business. Great stop. Only 5 minutes to the center of town which has nice places to eat and shop. Nice breakfast. Tom was very accomodating with my travel arrangements. I also stayed at the Sugarloaf Room which is very nicely decorated. I loved the antiques, furniture and the way the inn is decorated.... More

I stayed at the Benjamin Wales for one night in January. I wish I could have stayed longer though! Tom was very flexible as I called the day of to request the Sugarloaf Room. The inn is absolutely picturesque. You do have to drive up a hill to get to it. My Nissan Altima was fine with the climb, even... More
