i thought if you rented a room in the dead of winter in northern Maine, i could reasonably expect the room to be heated. Not so. There was a dinky little heater in the room which wasn't doing anything as far as i could tell. i told him i needed to work during the day. he suggested i do it... More

We don't like to rent rooms in the winter but we make exceptions for guests who are warned that you cannot heat a mansion to yuppie standards for under $40 a night, and that the maximum temperature will be 60 degrees. This the first guy to come and discover to his horror that it was true :-) and of course... More

This place is old, in disrepair, dusty, and musty. Picture yourself walking into a haunted house or a "historical" home that hasn't been maintained for numerous years, and you get the picture. I didn't feel at all comfortable in the home. Wished I had followed my instinct and turned around the second I saw it. Would have paid more and... More

What a charming review for Thanksgiving day :-) - But it appears to be bogus. I have not had any guests from Washington state this year and all of the balconies were redone this summer. And if I told you that was an ethernet plug in your room is it really believable to think that you would not ask where... More

If you have made it this far, you may well be expecting the Wizard of Oz at the end of the Yellow Brick Road.. Indeed, you will find a sort of Oz here at the Trebor Mansion - a real and fantastical place to rest, or clear, your head. There truly are not all to many of a place like... More

I loved the old inn, We had such a great time and the owner showed us around and gave us as much privacy as we wanted! I love all the old antiques in the inn. and all the beautiful wild life there. This is my kind of place! the beds were very comfortable, the place was clean and the balcony... More

The mansion is a masterpiece with a fascinating history. The Tower Room, the finest room there, is almost like a movie set for a historical drama. Robert is a charming and attentive host with STORIES to tell. For anyone weary of sterile motels or over-fancy B&B's this is the place. The owners' approach to nature and sustainable landscaping is a... More

We traveled through 12 states on the East Coast, and Trebor Mansion was the most unique and interesting place we found. Definitely not a standard issue sterile and predictable lodging place. Especially enjoyed the balcony and the sounds of nature all around us, the birds singing, the wind in the giant trees. Owners clearly not into electronics, but we did... More

We stayed for 3 nights, it was DIRTY, hair on sink and in bath (tub with hand held shower) & no curtain so water everywhere, we have stayed at many unique places but this was the worst! Robert, the owner sends you email with cute little quips, but he always criticizes the just prior guests for their stupidity "Hollywood Types",... More

This is a mysterious review. The guests never spoke to us during their stay. Their room, a 16 x 20 ft king bedded with private bath and balcony, was cleaned daily. It is the best room in the mansion and we gave them a deal for only $80 per night. There are 2 WIFI signals reaching their room (you need... More

Trebor Mnasion feels like home to me. let's see... yes, the place is set in the beautiful, rustic part of Maine, yes there is nature everywhere, yes there is a lovely little diner close by, and yes, they have lots and... We visited Trebor Mansion Inn and the host, Robert, showed us around. Really neat place! The sleeping rooms are all unique and there are several sitting rooms with tons of interesting books and antique furniture. It was a nice day to enjoy great conversation on the roomy porch and view the naturally beautiful grounds, glad we took the time to... More

What was to be a two-night stay became a four night stay! We had planned to go to Bar Harbor for the remaining three days of our vacation but opted on staying here for two more days simply because it was so wonderful. All the rooms were quite comfortable. Robert is the consummate gentleman; steward to all wonderful things around... More
